I started my awesome journey 24 years ago working with children in 1994. I started in Adams County School District 50 as a special needs educator. I worked my way up and I became an Early Childhood teacher while taking Early Childhood classes to learn all I could while I was teaching. I then decided it would be so great to be able to run my own daycare out of my home. In 2008 I made the choice to open my own daycare Tumbleweed Childcare. I enrolled in a college again this time I decided that special needs children was what I loved working with. So I went to college for five years online at Grand Canyon University, this was a dual degree in becoming a elementary teacher and special educator. After that I loved the little ones and decided to stay running my daycare. This meant I needed to improve it so I now have a certificate in EQIT and Pyramid Plus. I have reached level 3 on Colorado shines and I'm continuing to reach level five to help improve my work with the infants and toddlers. I continue to run my daycare with love, focusing on learning and fun. I run my daycare with the structure of a preschool program. We go on field trips and the library twice a month. We have swimming lessons in the summer and just having fun. I love my job, and wouldn t change it for nothing.
