It has been 3 months of preparations and the doors are now open for families to join a safe, fun, and educational environment. Every family can expect the following from their enrollment at Head Start: Curriculum - developed by Nationally Board Certified Special Education teacher, Carrie Hill, to meet the needs of early education for young students. It is designed to prepare children for a life-long enjoyment of learning and an easy transition to Kindergarten. Meals/ Snacks- Well-balanced breakfast, lunch and two snacks offered to all children. All allergies are taken into account and menus are developed and posted for the following week so parents can coordinate their own meals. Life skills- work on potty training, good manners, vocabulary, basic responsibility, clean up, etc. Practical skills are interwoven into all daily activities and accommodate our youngest to oldest children. Free play and Group play- encourages exploration, imagination, sharing, following direction and early social skill development. Exercise- Ranging from outside play, yoga, introduction to sports, tummy time (for the little ones) visits to the park behind the house and splash play in the summers. Physical activity is included in the daily curriculum. Daily updates/reports- Parents are appraised of their kids' activities with take home crafts, a specialized Facebook page for photos, individual text messages, and take-home folders for each child with the weekly menu, schedule, and relevant information. As the daycare provider, I bring over 10 years of experience with teaching internships at the elementary school level, lead Pre-Kindergarten instructor at the Little Gym and coaching youth sports through the city. I have CPR certification, Fingerprint and background clearance, and a current (negative) TB test. More importantly, I am personally invested in the program and I relish the opportunity to spend my career raising my own two girls in an inclusive and social environment. Full time enrollment is $125/week and limited to 6 kids, however the options are unlimited including part-time, drop-in, and Friday Date-Nights.
