Meet Ms. Eva, with over thirty years of experience in Montessori education and child care, she is still providing the utmost passionate and attentive education to her children. Best Montessori School Teacher of Howard County since 1997! Arriving in The U.S in 1991, she had a drive to make a life for her family that was still back in the Philippines. Ms. Eva started working at the Columbia Montessori School in July of that same year. Over the course of two and a half years, she walked to work every day from her humble apartment in rain or snow, heat or brisk weather. Working hard, long hours to gain the financial means to bring her two children (John-Khyle, and Khimee-Louise) and husband (Rodelo) to the U.S. She worked in the Columbia Montessori School for eleven years before giving birth to her last child (Kean-Jared) in the year 2000. For the last 24+ years she has been a home daycare provider utilizing her skills as a teacher. Her husband Rodelo has been a silent hero for her daycare. Being a jack of all trades with his handyman roles as a mechanic, electrician, and especially a great cook. With a few supporting cast members in her early years of daycare being her first born Son Khyle, and daughter Khimee. Creating a compassionate and loving environment are Ms. Eva’s defining traits as a provider. Her dedication to her children is on full display every day. Parents often credit Ms. Eva to how wildly successful their children are going into kindergarten and first grade. Influencing them to be model citizens and caring individuals. Hello, and welcome to My Little Angels daycare of 20 years, where we teach a comprehensive curriculum. Our program offers a true early childhood education environment where our students learn numbers, colors, shapes, sing songs, enjoy creating crafts, and story time. Our facility is bright with students’ family pictures and artwork hanging on the walls. There are many toys and activity sets for infants and toddlers. There is a circle time center and tons of learning curriculum posted. Our space feels like a preschool classroom or learning center, and we use flashcards, posters, books, and more to ensure children are learning. I take pride in having a wonderful childcare space with a kitchen, play area, many arts, and crafts, as well as a spare guest room for napping. Personal Development: I strongly believe in teaching manners and how to be good friends. My goal is to send them off to kindergarten, socially responsible and emotionally mature when they become school aged. I also have a beautiful and very friendly Golden Retriever! COVID Safety: My COVID procedures include using sanitizer spray and wipes throughout the day and washing hands before and after snacks and lunch. I clean my diaper station and other surfaces with bleach and water.

Spring Knolls embraces a play-based learning philosophy in a cooperative community while focusing on the "whole child." Through the power of play, our experienced and dedicated staff help children thrive in the five developmental domains: social, language, cognitive, fine motor, and gross motor skills. Located in downtown Silver Spring, Spring Knolls is for ages 2 through pre-K that offers half-day (9am-12pm), full-day (9am-3pm), and beginning in fall 2023, extended day options (9am-5:30pm). Whether it is building with blocks or playing with plastic animals in the sand table, the child solves problems and learn new skills while doing something they enjoy. The child directs the learning experiences based on their innate curiosity, furthering their understanding of the world and people around them. A cooperative community means that parents are directly involved with the administration of the school. All parents help in the school operations, from marketing to facilities upkeep.

I have been a nanny to a local family for two years. Recently I decided to expand my business and I am now licensed by the state of Maryland as a family child care provider (this includes CPR/First Aid certification and SIDS training). My home has been in my family for 100 years and my mother was a family child care provider for seven years. The child care area is separate from my family's personal space and has a dedicated entrance and separate facilities (kitchen, bathroom, play areas, nap area). Families have described my child care as being bright, cheerful, engaging, and soothing. Activities include structured lesson plans, crafts, gardening, outdoor activities, circle time, independent play, and much more. I also provide family activities after child care hours. My home is smoke free and our four dogs are contained in our personal space. Children have no contact with the animals and the animals are never in the child care area - this includes the outdoor play space. Child care isn't just about someone watching your child while you are at work. For many children family child care is their first connection with the world outside of home and the first step in the education/socialization process. My role as a child care provided is multifaceted. I have to maintain a safe environment where children feel nurtured and loved and where they can thrive developmentally, scholastically, creatively, and socially. Babies start out learning motor skills, developing their curiosity, and establishing a sense of their surroundings. Toddlers progress to learning fine motor skills, potty training, development of social skills, and self control. Preshoolers start developing skills that will be used to enter kindergarten and that build self confidence through practical successes. To reach all of these milestones I make sure that all activities offer an opportunity to learn a new skill or build upon already acquired skills. Children learn best through play so I provide lots of opportunities for play that results in exposure to math, science, language, and reading. I also provide opportunities to experience art, music, cooking/baking, and gardening as these create opportunities for self expression, creative thinking, and attainment of practical life skills. Hours: M-F 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (some flexibility) full time, before/after school (summer & holiday), & drop in care available Breakfast, lunch & two snacks provided to ages 1+.

Heniek W says "Great, Knowable carring place, send your children here. I highly recommend. Arts and crafts, story tI me and tons of activities for all ages from babies to...

B.H.C.C. is based on the child development model which incorporate the theories of the great philosophers of Piaget, Vygosky, Erikson, Gardner and others. Learning through play is viewed as the cornerstone of the curriculum. Here children are giving the opportunity to explore materials and participate in variety of experiences. Activities are carefully planned and implemented in an open- classroom sitting. Children are free to choose from age- appropriate activities including: Art, music, Language Development, Pre- Math Skills, Science and Nature and Dramatic Play. Children develop self - esteem, independence and problem solving skills as they make choices and assist in planning the environment and activities. We offer a high quality bilingual program such as the dual language (English & Spanish). The proficiency in more than one language is a valuable skill to be cultivated in our communities starring in the early ages. My primary goal is for the children to feel safe and secure. Prior to being independent a child must know that he or she can depend on adults and a predictable environment. Children are treated with respect and kindness. I recognize the children develop at different rates and different interest.

Katie L. says "When I went looking for care for my infant son, it was important to me to find a provider who would regularly read to him. Bright Hearts does that and so...

Child care
Kids Kingdom Child Care and Learning Center values early childhood education as the foundation for lifelong learning. We offer child care services from 6 weeks to 5 years old. We also offer before and after care program for school age kids. We believe that each child is a unique individual and should be viewed, respected and treated as such. As the welfare and well-being of each child is paramount, we strive to provide holistic support of the child's exclusive requirements and interests in a nurturing, familial environment that fosters the child's development across all developmental domains. We believe that the child develops in an orderly manner by passing through stages of development, which occur in predictable sequential fashion according to his or her physical, social, emotional and cognitive growth. We provide experiences in dramatic play, math, art, science, music, language, pre-reading and pre-writing. These experiences nurture and facilitate growth at each stage of a child's development. Verbal skills are encouraged through group discussions and through one-on-one conversations between teacher and child and among children. These verbal activities enable children to develop the critical-thinking skills necessary to further learning. One of the teacher's roles in this process is to ask the right questions at the right time to spark the interest and desire to pursue a line of inquiry. Partnerships with families provide us with invaluable information relating to cultural backgrounds and heritage. Our teachers strive to build the relationships with families based on co-operation and a mutual respect for the reciprocal roles that each play in the lives of the children. Partnerships with families are developed through daily discussions, newsletters and meetings. Moreover, The Kids Kingdom open door policy aims to facilitate an open flow of communication while maintaining confidentiality and respect of the privacy and wishes of each family, resulting in the highest levels of customer service. Partnerships with industry professionals assist staff development and expansion of the curriculum to meet the individual and collective needs of all children. Needs based on cultural identity, additional support education and medical interventions which all require greater individual knowledge and supported cooperative teams, assures all children are facilitated in an inclusive environment as best as possible.
