    Jason's Music Lessons (Piano)

    by Taylor Robinson Music

    Encino, CA

Years of Experience: 8 Location Options: In Home Travel Radius: 20 miles Genres: Rock, Jazz, Classical Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult Instruments Taught: Keyboard and Piano Lessons Overview: Firstly, I try to put myself in the student's shoes, understand where the student is coming from musically, and use this context as the background against which to progress the student's musical development. For example, I am not going to ask the student to practice a Rachmaninoff-esque technique when s/he has recently started learning piano. Secondly, engagement and humor are necessary; I will always make certain the student is attentive by, among other ideas, initiating relevant discussions to which the student will surely contribute. Furthermore, I will always highlight the student's accomplishments and bring out the best in the student; I want the student to have the full confidence that s/he can reach all of her/his goals and execute all her/his objectives. Lastly, as there is an abundance of ways to practice each piece and each song, I will make sure to introduce all of them, or as many as possible, to the student. Formal Education: I studied music as a minor and partial major at the University of California, Davis. I also studied piano performance at the University of California, Davis, with former LA Opera lead pianist Marilyn Swan, a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music. Adam's Music Lessons (Guitar, Drum, Piano, Song Writing, Vocal)

    by Taylor Robinson Music

    Hamilton, GA

Years of Experience: 30 Location Options: In Studio, In Home, In Webcam Travel Radius: 35 Genres: Rock, Country, Acoustic, Christian, RB, Pop Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult Instruments Taught: Bass Guitar Lessons,Drum Lessons,Keyboard and Piano Lessons,Vocal Lessons,Song Writing Lessons Overview: Adam has been a lifelong student of music. At the early age of 4 years old he began vocal training under his Father's tutelage who was trained musically and received a full music scholarship to attend Tennessee Tech. Being raised as a preacher's kid afforded Adam many opportunities to work with professional musicians, singers and the like. By 12 years old, Adam was already comfortable and excelled as a singer and performer internationally. Throughout his middle school and high school years, he was recognized as an accomplished musician and singer at churches, school and nationwide competitions. By age 13, he received invitations to participate in national youth choirs who only seek the most talented young people. By age 15, he was involved in a traveling team of young people who performed concerts weekly to audiences of various sizes (500+). For many years Adam participated in the A/G Fine Arts Festival. Beginning in September each year, over 70,000 junior and senior high school students begin preparing their entries for the District and National Fine Arts Festivals. Each participant had to succeed at the district level to advance to regional level and then advance again to have an opportunity to compete on the national level. Every year Adam received an invitation to nationals. The only year he made the trip to compete in nationals, he placed in the top 33 final competitors in the nation. That year, only the 1st and 2nd place winners were revealed. With a life of musical training, Adam had an opportunity to become the fulltime choir and band director at a large church (400+) with an advanced music program by age 19. Moving directly into a working position as a musician and singer greatly influenced his decision to begin a paid music career instead of continuing his education. Since that time, Adam has productively directed and trained musicians and singers in 3 adult choirs, 2 youth choirs, a childrens choir of 100+, and 8 bands consisting of 48 musicians. He has worked as a consultant for many churches and organizations starting up new music programs. Formal Education: Aside from lifelong experience, saxophone, piano, and bass lessons from 5th grade through High School, no formal education has been acquired. While Adam continues to study music after a lifetime of experience, most of his education has been hands-on learning while performing and working with others who are highly educated in music. Private Education: Has learned from multiple experts in the music industry over the past 25+ years. Specializes in a fast paced learning method that uses music theory as it's foundation. This method enables you to use chord charts and quickly be ready to play with other musicians with little to no prior musical experience. Also works with beginning and intermediate level students on more classical forms of learning which includes reading sheet music. Performing Experience: Adam has performed on countless stages over the years. From small intimate settings to audiences with thousands of people. His experience is well versed to include traveling to multiple nations as well as being on both television and radio programs alike. Experience Teaching: Adam has taught all ages from 4 years old to 70+ years old. Most of his students have come by way of referral from other satisfied students/parents. Students have stayed with him for years. He is often highly regarded as a favorite among other past teachers.

My love for music, writing, teaching, dancing and the arts, in general, started at a very young age, six years old to be exact. I grew up watching my mother and grandmother sing in church and my mother even had her own band. I knew at that age an entertainer, not just a singer, but an entertainer was what I wanted to be. I picked up every instrument I could, watched every youtube video that I could and read every music book that I could. At seven years old, I began to play piano by ear and by watching Youtube tutorials on how to become a better piano player. In 2018, I picked up the bass guitar and started playing by ear. Recently, I moved from Saint Louis to Atlanta to pursue music and have not looked back since.
