In Eileen's own words: Helping my students understand the relationship between the music and the world around them has been my joy and my delight in teaching for the past 30 years. The incredibly positive response and feedback from my students has always been such an encouragement, and seeing their excitement and eager attitudes is something that I have enjoyed from my students from early Elementary ages through adults and Seniors. I have become convinced that my “calling” is to engage and challenge my students, and to help them become knowledgeable and successful in listening to, creating, and truly enjoying music of many styles and eras. So I make use of a variety of teaching resources to pique their interest and to open their minds to many new possibilities. The common denominator in my teaching has always been a striving for excellence. Setting high goals in the selection and use of resources and materials, and in the enabling and encouragement of my students seems to be the best way to build a capable and competent musician. And I am anxious to help my students gain musical and expressive skills that will enhance their lives and enable them to make a positive contribution to their family, their community, and to many others. Maxwell's Music Lessons (Piano)
by Taylor Robinson Music
Clearwater, FL
Years of Experience: 2 Location Options: In Home, In Webcam Travel Radius: 10 Genres: Rock, Classical, Pop Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult Instruments Taught: Keyboard and Piano Lessons Overview: Hello! My name is Maxwell, but most people call me Max. I've been playing piano since 2015. I graduated from the University of South Florida in May 2024 with a bachelor's degree in Communication, but half of my time in college was spent learning Music Education, and it is still my passion today. I have also been a part-time substitute teacher for the past two years for Pinellas County Schools. I work with mostly middle-schoolers and high-schoolers, but I am comfortable working with elementary-aged kids, too. I substitute for multiple band teachers in the county because they like to utilize my background in music education for their classes in their absence. I'm looking to do this part-time along with substituting, or to eliminate substituting entirely and mainly focus on private lessons. It's something I've wanted to do for a long time and is something I really enjoy doing. Some fun facts about me: My favorite pianist and composer is Chopin. My favorite bands are Yes, Tool, and King Crimson in that order. Lastly, my main hobby besides piano is participating in charity tournaments for a fighting video game that I play. Thank you so much for your consideration. -Maxwell -Education- Degree: Communication School: University of South Florida Dates: 2024-05

Years of Experience: 25 Location Options: In Studio Genres: Rock, Blues, Country Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult Instruments Taught: Bass Guitar Lessons Overview: Hello – the following is an overview of my decades of musical experience and (hopefully) qualifications to instruct others that would like to learn from my experience. I am the son of a professional musician/ music educator. I have been around music my entire life and have been participating, in one form or another, as far back as I can remember. I took piano lessons from age 6-10. Subsequently, I joined the school orchestra, taking up the string bass. Since I was the only bassist in the school, I immediately began playing with the more advanced orchestra students. I played in the high school orchestra for two years even though my attention and allegiance was transferring from string bass to bass guitar. As soon as I began playing bass guitar, I started learning my favorite rock and pop songs and acquiring and developing my own tastes and affinities. I jammed with anybody else I could find that played anything ( primarily guitarists and drummers, of course) and also began to accompany the teen choir at our church. I continued playing string bass through 10th grade as well and participated in all school orchestra functions along with many church and community functions. I was given the opportunity to join the local symphony for a couple of performances (once on string bass and once on bass guitar, for a “pops” concert). I played bass guitar one year in the school jazz band. I played in a couple of high school bands, doing the usual sock hops, “battle of the bands”, and school dances, etc. I have also played a couple of school musicals on a “for hire” basis. After high school I joined a local country rock band and played regularly with them for a couple of years – the usual array of wedding receptions, local festivals, bars, private parties, etc. After that band was disbanded by the leader, I moved to South Carolina to play in a Top 40 “road band” and played various clubs and hotel lounges throughout South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Virginia. Private Education: completed audio engineering course at Dallas Sound Lab -Reviews- Name: Anonymous Date: 2015-05-29 21:50:23 Title: Outstanding instructor Body: Kirk has a great understanding of music, and he also has the ability to teach so that you can master it as well. You'll be playing your favorite songs quickly, but you'll also be learning how and why the music works. You'll be empowered to tackle new music on your own, and also to have a great teacher to keep you sharp with technique and new ideas!
