Mi Sol Montessori Academy is raising the bar and we are starting early! We are a Montessori early childhood, kindergarten and early elementary learning center. Since 2006, we have been offering our students a superior educational experience. Our Montessori school features a true immersion language program in Spanish. The program is designed to immerse the child in our target foreign language (Spanish), so as to turn out functionally bi-lingual learners. Furthermore, our academic curriculum is designed to exceed State of Illinois curriculum outcomes. Our Montessori teachers are highly qualified possessing University Degrees, Montessori Certification, Special Education Degrees, K-9 State Certification, Spanish Degrees, Psychology Degrees, Education Degrees and years of Montessori teaching experience in a Spanish language immersion environment. This program explores the child s potential, allowing the child to excel academically while at the same time fostering and nurturing positive character traits. We encourage the child to be himself and allow him the freedom to take ownership of learning activities. If you are looking for an alternative to typical, traditional schools and you want to provide your child Spanish, a love of discovery, a healthy self-esteem, encourage independence and challenge him academically, then Mi Sol Academy is for your family.

Hello, my name is Stephanie, I've been a nanny for 3 years. My sister, Anakaren, who is now a mom and used to be a teacher at Kinder care, and my mom who has more than 25 years of experience, would like to start working with infants and toddlers in our own home (Orland Park). We will get our DCFS license soon, but we will only accept 9 children at the time. For now, we are only accepting 4 infants, until we are licensed (pretty much like a daycare but less kids, more attention, less expensive and more availability). Monday to Friday, 5 am-8 pm, weekends, 9 am-4 pm. (3 months-2 years old only)

I am a dedicated home child care professional with over 15 years of experience. I have two children of my own. I am a mother first and fore most. I love children and making life a little bit brighter for them. I enjoy music time as I believe that music brings light to the soul. I also enjoy reading time. Its a chance to let a little bit of magic into a childs life and see there imaginations at work. I also firmly believe in learning. I have an active play time that includes arts and crafts and science and basic structure. I do furnish all meals and snacks and when planning a healthy meal i also tend to try to put a little bit of learning into it. The children get to learn about different places in the world through the meals that they eat. I am a firm believer of fresh home cooked meals. Not that having an occasional lunch or dinner out is out of the question. I just believe that we should have a balance to our nutrition. Fridays are our fun nights that will include the occasional pizza and pj party in the evening for those on second shift. It is accompanied with a childrens movie that they get to pick and earn during the week. I believe each new day gives us a new chance to brighten the life of a child. We are the structure that holds may together.

I've been doing in home childcare for a little over 16 years now and I am licensed through the state. Prior to my daycare career I was a teacher until I became a Mom! I was also the head of an after-school program for a local elementary school. I've worked in daycare, summer camps, summer school, basically any job that involves children. I have my degree with a certification in early childhood education. I started babysitting out of my home 16 years ago and love it. I've teamed up with my sister who is also a stay at home mom and comes to my house to help me out or to fill in for me. Teaming up with my sister has really worked out nice because she's my back up so you wouldn't ever have to worry about your sitter calling off with the two of us! We would treat your child as if he/she were our own. As a mother I know how hard it is to find childcare I've been there, especially trusting someone off the internet. Rest assure being a teacher in a public school I've been fingerprinted, background checked, and have a great reputation from my long term families I sit for! I charge $50/day for full time and $60/day for part time (2 or 3 days). I live in Hickory Hills very close to 294 & 55. Please email me if you'd like more information, I'd love to meet you and your little one:) Thanks

Hi, I'm Amanda, and I offer full or part time daycare, as well as occasional or as-needed babysitting. I will make sure your child is in a fun, loving, safe environment; will provide opportunity for your child to explore, imagine and create; and will nurture your child with lots of hugs, high fives and praise when they succeed and encouragement when they are challenged. I have spent 9 years creating a rich, child-centered, healthy environment for my own children and I'd like to do that for your child as well. My daycare is licensed and I offer full and part-time care for children ages newborn to five years old. My hours are 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. I prepare a healthy breakfast, lunch and two snacks a day for the children. I can adapt meals for a child with allergies (daughter has a serious nut allergy). My discipline policy, depending on the age of the child, is to use reinforcement, discussion and/or redirection when misbehavior occurs, with time out as a last resort. I keep a daily log and can send pictures and/or texts about your child. I taught my two daughters (now 7 and 9) how to sign when they were babies and would be happy to do that with your child. My fee is $50 a day for full-time and I offer discounts in certain circumstances. Fees for occasional or as-needed babysitting are negotiable and depend on the number of children and when the care is needed. Our day will include age appropriate activities, with a preschool curriculum chosen to ensure your child hits all the developmental milestones. We engage in pre-literacy activities and read every day, celebrate holidays around the world, have a cooking class once a week, sing songs and engage in imaginative play. We will slay dragons, put on puppet shows, explore the garden with all its creepy crawlies, do science experiments and arts and crafts. Every day will be a happy, educational day for your child. I will guide your child in the acquisition of communication and language skills, self confidence, respect for self and others, manners and kindness to all living things. My experience includes current volunteer work as a Sunday school teacher, leader of two Girl Scout troops, multiple courses in child development, organizing and teaching VBS at my church and weekly volunteering in the library at my daughter's school. I would love to meet you and your child to see if we are a good fit. Let's talk!

In a safe, loving, respectful environment, children have the greatest opportunity to grow and develop. Such an environment should be the foundation of all childcare programs, however, I believe it is an educator's duty to go above and beyond safety, love and respect. We, as educators, should strive to create an environment that is fulfilling, enriching and supporting of all possible learning and growing opportunities. The first step of development for an infant is trust. With comfortable and predictable care, infants feel at ease with the opportunities to explore themselves and the world around them. Toddlers are more mobile and have a need to explore to a greater extent. They also have a great need to gain independence. Caregivers should support these needs by providing lots of opportunities for exploration and self-sufficiency including a safe environment, which allows plenty of independent and explorative opportunities, and toys and materials that support his or her new abilities and encourage those that are yet to come. At preschool age, children are learning many cognitive skills to prepare them for kindergarten. For some educators, it is natural to dismiss the importance of play at this age and spend more time on structured, teacher directed lessons. There are other educators who feel that preschoolers are too young and immature to handle such rigorous work as reading, writing and arithmetic, so they provided an environment that is all play with very little cognitive learning. I believe that the best environment for preschoolers is one that consists of some cognitive lessons and much developmentally appropriate play. At this age, I believe that play should be the majority of a child's day because the right kind of play can be very enriching. One of the most important things for a school-age child to learn is to socialize effectively. At this age, children have a need for acceptance and self-identity. Children should be given opportunities to socialize as young as infancy. At preschool age, they can begin to learn how to share, be kind, handle conflict, etc. If an older child has been taught to socialize, he or she will have a greater opportunity to develop good self-esteem. Quality Caregivers Never Stop Learning I believe that a quality childcare provider never sits back with ease and accepts that there is no more room for improvement. No matter how wonderful the program is, or how well trained the provider, there is always more that can be done.
