Amy Knapp

2157 El Lago Dr Oakley, CA

3 mi

Hi Parents! My name is Amy Knapp and I am a mother of two daughters, age 5 and 6 (1st and 2nd grade!). After working for YEARS in the retail business I am ready to get back to my true passion, kids! I am an experienced child care provider as well as live in nanny. I am looking for 1 child or siblings to have in my home full time. I am offering a service at an affordable/negotiable rate. Knowing not everyone's schedule is 9-5 Monday thru Friday I am willing to take children from a family in need of longer typical day care hours and days, this includes late evenings and weekends. As I understand how difficult and stressful it can be finding day care for the non traditional work hours and days. I am also willing to do pick ups and drop offs for school aged children in the Oakley, Antioch, Brentwood area. I am CPR certified for a health care provider, this includes children and infants. I have been fingerprinted with the state of California in June of last year during my Phlebotomy internship at the VA hospital in Vallejo (high security clearance :). Our household is a smoke free/ alcohol free home. We like to eat healthy, homemade meals. If you are interested in meeting myself and my family we would love to meet yours and see if this would be a good fit. Good luck for all seeking day care!

Tiny Hands Tiny Feet Daycare/Preschool

1572 Autumn Valley Way Brentwood, CA

5 mi

We have been in business since August, 2006. We have had the opportunity to expand into a center based program, which we have turned down. Our philosophy is that we want to provide a home environment where children can come to learn and prepare for Kindergarten. My helpers and I, have multiple children of our own ranging in age from 22 months up to 22 years old. Because of our experience, we are able to give the children who attend our daycare/preschool the same exposure to a structured preschool program that a center provides, but within a family environment. They will definitely be prepared for Kindergarten. According to research from Dr. Deanne Perez-Granados assistant professor at Stanford University, older siblings not only teach one another in an academic sense they also teach each other conflict resolution, how to share, negotiation skills, vocabulary, acquisition of facts, artistic development, increase in self-esteem and so much more. Squabbling itself, has some learning value as children learn to work through conflict and their natural desire for instant gratification and how to get what they want. We do not only support that the children resolve their conflicts, but that we as adults are able to work through our differences together and speak cordially in order to come to an agreement for the benefit of the child. As the younger children learn from the older ones the older ones are also learning from the younger ones as well, patience is a virtue. This all prepares them for real life. As adults, we all know how challenging it can be. Our Philosophy: We are a Family Child Care Home with a license to accommodate up to 14 children. Our days of operation are Monday-Friday. Our hours of operation are from 6 am to 6 pm, but we do accept children earlier then 6 am and later than 6 pm, on an as needed basis. The ages we serve are from 6 weeks up to 10 years old. We have a structured schedule for the children that we follow. We provide preschool to children 2 years and up and for the younger ones we provide a wide range of developmentally appropriate activities. Our philosophy at Tiny Hands Tiny Feet Daycare/Preschool is to support parents in their need for a safe and nurturing place for their children. Above and beyond that are main focuses are on teaching the children about good manners, good hygiene, helping each child develop their fullest potential, teaching them about caring, feelings, sharing. We provide a Pre-K program the year before they go to Kindergarten. At the same time that we are teaching them how to become self-sufficient in different ways we are also insuring that they are on the path to success in their education. We love teaching children and when they accomplish something they weren't able to do before it is a day for celebrating.

Bamboo Village After School Martial Arts Program

8368 Brentwood Blvd Brentwood, CA

5 mi

The Bamboo Village Martial Arts After School Program is a great way to safely have your child transported from their elementary school to our facility where children have the opportunity to: - Study traditional karate and gain all the benefits that martial arts has to offer including better manners, improved behavior, improved concentration and focus - Learn the value of leadership - Improve socialization, goal-setting, time-management, leadership and study skills - Develop conflict resolution abilities and valuable self-defense skills - Practice discipline, courtesy, and respect - Great physical exercise The objective of the After School Martial Arts Program is to create a fun and safe experience every afternoon after school that encourages children to build good relationships, learn martial arts, and demonstrate responsibility by completing their homework assignments. The children are continuously supervised. The daily routine is punctual and organized. Parents can concentrate on their job with the peace of mind that their children are having fun after school, making good use of their time, and staying healthy from the exercise. Ultimately, the children will become black belt leaders and role models. The martial arts curriculum is comprehensive. If your child is attending an after care program now, then usually enrolling in our After School Center is more affordable. Instead of paying tuition for after care, at another location, and then paying tuition again for evening martial arts classes, you can have your after school needs and martial arts lessons combined together. Then, evenings can be saved for quality family time and eliminate the stress of having to manage dinner, homework, evening activities, and bed time schedules...
