For my dad, I'm seeking a companion care provider with Alzheimer's / Dementia experience. Meal Preparation: My dad needs prompting to eat; food generally just needs to be plated. Transportation: Optional; his neighborhood is very walkable. Companionship: Brain activities, physical activities (walking, working out), conversation, prompts to journal, read NYT, check email, etc... Schedule Details: definitely each Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon and possibly 1st and 3rd Tuesdays from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. Monday mornings may be needed soon. My 82-year-old dad moved to Denver in November, 2017 and lives independently in a 55+ community. He has early stage Alzheimer's, which is progressing. Substitutes/After Care teachers help students learn and grow inside an inclusive environment. This means that some of our students are typically developing and some have special needs. They learn side-by-side in the classroom each and every day. Teachers will implement therapeutic strategies into their daily routine to help students achieve milestones across all developmental domains. They will work as a team to care and nurture the student development from ages 12 months to 5 years. Areas of Responsibility: The applicant must be able to provide a stimulating, safe and developmentally appropriate environment for students. We maintain staff/student ratios of 1:5 or lower.
