I am a former elementary school teacher that now teaches at Black Hawk College in the afternoons. I am in the process of being state licensed in IL for foster parenting/childcare in my home. My day care is different because I will only accept 3 children total, and offer early-morning childcare with preschool curriculum for children ages 2-5. I am also equipped to take infants. I will feed breakfast in the mornings and a snack before pick-up. This is the perfect daycare for moms who might work the morning shift as a waitress or other early morning jobs. I am also able to drop off children to other preschools, or even home, between 11-11:30, before I head to my college teaching job. The other thing that makes me different, is that I offer overnight care for third shift parents at least 3 nights a week, at a discounted rate. I have chosen to do this out of my home because I will be shortly placed with a young child, and I want to be able to stay home at least half the day with that child, and still earn a small income.
