Seeking care for my father in his 70s. Services needed: companionship, meal preparation, medication prompting, transportation, light housekeeping, errands / shopping. Looking for someone with 5+ years of experience caring for seniors. Specialized care needs: CPR/first aid training, nursing experience, support for memory care. Male caregiver preferred. A little more about my father: he can be anxious, pleasant, reserved, independent. My father in law is a very sweet quiet man. He suffers from Alzheimer's disease. He is mostly docile but his memory has faded and is very forgetful. He needs reminders to eat and take his meds. He does get more confused during the "sun downers" time of day, which makes him a little more confused and sightly anxious. But he can be easily redirected. I'm looking for someone who is patient, quiet. We would like a caregiver who is patient and very laid back. A person who will engage with at times but not overwhelming. My father in law loves taking walks, going out to restaurants, and riding in the car places. He was a prominent builder in Wilmington and likes to go see his homes that are being built. His son runs the company, but he still likes to be a part of the process.
