Join Inside Chicago Walking Tours on our newest route — it’s Chicago’s ONLY engineering-themed tour! You’ll learn how a “haunted” building gets its reputation simply by settling unevenly on its “floating” foundation. You’ll marvel at how Chicago’s buildings handle gravity and wind. And as on all of our tours, you’ll visit the interiors of a few buildings to truly get that sense that you’ve seen inside Chicago!

Exploring the Historic Hurricane Canal
5.0 (3)
Powered by Viator
Hurricane, UT
This is a tour that has never been offered until now. Guided tours along the Hurricane Canal, to date, have only been a once-a-year offering. Participants on this tour see things most tourists pass over. People of all ages enjoy encountering the canal and its tunnels and flumes, which makes it not a typical hike. This tour is enlightening look at what it took to settle the land in the American West. These hardy settlers had to build irrigation systems in order to establish their communities and the Hurricane Canal was one of the toughest ones to build. It took 12 years to build and was mostly a pick-and-shovel operation with no public financing. It is an engineering marvel of its time and truly a miracle because as one looks at some sections of the canal, they seem to run uphill.
