The route winds through a mix of sandy washes, rolling slickrock, and desert trails, leading to some of the area’s best panoramic viewpoints. The highlight of the tour is reaching a stunning overlook where the turquoise waters of Lake Powell stretch out below, framed by towering sandstone cliffs. You’ll have plenty of time here to take photos, soak in the views, and appreciate the scale of this man-made marvel and its surrounding red rock landscapes. Depending on the season, you might also catch sight of the distant Navajo Mountain or the colorful layers of the surrounding buttes and mesas.

Antelope Canyon X, located southeast of Lower Antelope canyon by the gateway town of Page, Arizona, is named after the Xs carved into the Navajo Sandstone created by millions of years of rainfall and wind. This part of the canyon is chiseled out by millions of years’ worth of flood erosion and impactful winds on its sandstone, enough to sculpt out the iconic "X" shape that aptly named the canyon. Canyon X is a relatively new scenic tour and the lesser-known cousin of Upper/Lower Antelope Canyon, which results in fewer visitors by comparison to the other two. Canyon X is a mixture of the characteristics of both the Upper and Lower canyon, with the Upper’s feature of pillars of light and the Lower’s steepness. Canyon X is also deeper than the other two and brings ample photo opportunities. It truly is a great vacation spot for photography as well.

PLEASE READ THROUGH THOROUGHLY: There are NO kids allowed under the age of 8 years old. You must arrive 20 minutes early. Experience a fully guided tour into the 8th wonder of the world, Upper Antelope Canyon. This tour will show the natural illuminating sunlight on the canyon walls, while it is changing colors throughout the seasons. Tour 1 allows sightseers to experience the canyon for around 80 minutes in their selected time slot. With the new updated guidelines, Upper Antelope Canyon is a single direction tour. Visitors will now exit with a 15-minute hike, up and over the beautiful canyon. There are 21 steps going up and 112 steps going down. No children under 8 years old and due to the elevation changes, this tour is not handicapped accessible.
