This is on most Southern Utah bucket lists, you’ll find the local favorite one-two punch of Peek-a-Boo and Spooky Slot Canyons. These magnificent hikes, located in the Dry Fork area of the Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument make for a killer loop you can tackle in one afternoon of adventure. Once you’re in, all you have to do is walk through a scenic paradise of red and purple rock, arches, and narrow slot canyons. This tour is around 5 miles total hiking distance and is considered moderate hiking going up and down hills. From the trailhead, we will hike through Dry Fork Wash, you’ll hike along the creek wash until you see the mouth of Peek-a-Boo. Half Day Canyoneering Tour in Egypt Slot Canyon

    5.0 (3)

    Powered by Viator

    Escalante, UT

Egypt 1 offers a lot packed into a short approach and exit. Those with high skill levels can downclimb the entire canyon. Others will do 3 short rappels. The narrows are quite good, and the challenges just hard enough to keep it interesting. With competent leadership, this is a great family or beginner friendly canyon. The downclimbs yield fairly easily to team work and partner catches / assists. Though this canyon can hold a bit of water at times after very heavy rains. Tours are conditional to weather. Being on time is imperative. We are on MST and an hour different than Las Vegas and Arizona. If you are more than 15 late we may have to leave without you.
