David's earliest performance activities include school events from 1st grade on and with his family from age 7 on in churches and retirement homes in the surrounding area of Corsicans, Texas, David's home town. David started piano lessons with the Barnes Studio in Corsicana at age 6 and received his first guitar as a Junior in High School for Crhsitmas from his Grannie. David was an integral member of both church music and public school vocal music from age 11 and eventually competed for TMEA and Uil honors in High School with much success. David also had minor and major roles in his HS Choir musicals. David was a member of the Singing Prophets, His, and the BSU performing group from Mavarrk Junior College. While on scholarship from SFASU, David performed with the top A Cappella Chor as a freshman through graduate school and performed numerous minor and lead roles in the spring Opera Workshop. In undergrad, David received the Baumgartner Award as Outstanding Vocalist. David took private voice and piano at SFA and continued to improve his guitar skills. As a public school choir Director David learned the following instruments out of necessity for performances: drums, bass, electric, mandoline, banjo, recorder and keyboard. David currently has several original songs copyrighted and registered with the Library of Congress.
