He has composed, performed, and produced music for his own recordings on his Spotify channel as well as for others. He has a strong passion for teaching, bringing students to their full potential, and showing new students the wonderful world of music. Josh received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Commercial Popular Music-Composition from Point Loma Nazarene University and teaches all styles of music with main focus on rock/pop/jazz/funk repertoire and teaching music theory and composition. He also teaches up to an intermediate level for classical guitar. In his spare time, he enjoys surfing and hiking, and composing, arranging, and recording many styles of music for himself and others. Formal Education: Bachelor of Arts in Commercial Music-Composition from Point Loma Nazarene University. I studied jazz, pop, and rock guitar, jazz and pop voice, songwriting, studio recording, live performance, and leading a band. Private Education: I mentored under a renowned San Diego teacher and musician, Tonga Ross-Ma’u for four years studying jazz, pop, rnb, and soul guitar and bass. I studied advanced music theory and songwriting as well. Performing Experience: I write, record, and perform my own original music. I have played in many bands and ensembles for over 10 years. Some examples: college jazz band, college orchestra, my own band, and cover bands. I have played well-established venues throughout San Diego with my band including: SOMA San Diego and The Holding Company.
