In the skunk-themed drawing and painting activity, students will refine a variety of skills essential for artistic development. They will enhance their observational skills by closely examining images of skunks and floral gardens, which will aid in accurately rendering these subjects in their art. The project also focuses on developing drawing skills, as students learn to simplify complex images into basic shapes and outlines through guided steps. Additionally, using watercolors will immerse students in color theory, enabling them to experiment with color mixing and application to achieve depth and realism. This activity will also improve their fine motor skills, as precise hand movements are crucial for both drawing and painting techniques.

Ellen Matzke does a fantastic job working with my son Elon. She keeps him on task, has loads of patience, and manages it all while introducing him to new art concepts. He enjoys his time when he visits. Evan Wischik
