Garrow Family Child Care

Garrow Family Child Care; also known as "Sprouting Seeds", is run by myself; Lucille Garrow. I hold a Master Teacher Permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and a Bachelors Degree in Child Development. Our curriculum is research based with an emphasis on language development, social emotional development and nature exploration. We do indoor and outdoor playtime as well as lots of social emotional learning through activities and language throughout the day. The infants, toddlers and young children learn through play and the curriculum is always changing based on their developmental growth, individual interests and new materials we get / songs we hear. I'm often finding new ways to teach by creating wall displays and gathering materials that relate to songs and books that become our favorites. We make the most out of learning experiences by using books, musical instruments and puppets. Sprouting Seeds Curriculum revolves around the five school readiness goals from the Los Angeles County Of Education. These goals stem from the five domains: social emotional development, language development, cognitive development, motivation for learning / attention maintenance and fine and gross motor development; including hygiene and safety practices. I let the children's interests lead them through their learning and implement plenty of language to foster their cognition and teach them words; often describing their actions and the play materials they interact with. We also have lots of back and forth conversations and I make sure to expand on their words as they grow and start to talk; introducing them to new concepts as well as asking open ended questions to enhance their higher order thinking skills. I am caring, hands-on and experienced in creating safe, fun and educational environments for infants, toddlers and young children, along with my own children. Thank you for reading our program's description, I look forward to connecting with you so you can learn more and possibly schedule a tour! ~ Sprouting Seeds ~ "Where great mind's grow"

The Dandelion School is a home-based school in Brentwood. Dandelion offers a variety of programs for babies as young as 9 months old, all the way up to children in elementary school. Director, Laura, along with her husband, Genji, have created a unique educational experience where the excitement of school meets the individualization and intimacy of private lessons all in the comfort of a nurturing home environment. At Dandelion, we understand the importance of small group sizes and the power of a low child-to-teacher ratio. We customize curriculum in order to nurture and respect the developing minds and personalities of all our students. For that reason we are influenced by an array of research-based practices, such as social constructivist theory (Vygotsky), the Reggio Emilia approach, the developmental-interaction approach, and Multiple Intelligence theory. We value the beauty and complexity in the way children process their world and strive to help them understand who they are, as well as inspire a lifelong love for learning.

Alley Cats Preschool, Llc's Photo

Alley Cats Preschool, Llc

3109 Stanford Avenue Marina del Rey, CA

1 mi

Alley Cats Preschool LLC is a Spanish immersion school located in the heart of Marina Del Rey. Our children range between the ages of 2 and 5 1/2. All children in America now live bi-culturally. At Alley Cats we believe it is essential to provide young minds with a multicultural education so that children can learn to show respect and appreciation for each others differences. As the children follow their daily schedule of classes and activities, they will become familiarized with the Spanish language as they engage with teachers, during outdoor free play, through stories, songs and music classes. At this young age children are able to quickly understand phrases and vocabulary and begin to speak and respond in Spanish. Our daily activities include exploration in music, art, dance, drama, cooking, ecology, astrology, geography, science, technology, language, literature, writing, social studies, math, Spanish, yoga and other sports too. Our beautiful in-home preschool is enhanced by the surroundings of the community--the beach, the fire station, library, and the Marina, to name just a few--all of which offer many lessons of their own on our frequent walks and field trips. Our bilingual curriculum also emphasizes social skills, including: building friendships, respect for others, conflict resolution and advocating for one's needs and ideas. By leading with kindness our small staff of qualified teachers and assistants can guide our children through experiences that help them develop a healthy attitude for learning so that they may continue to grow, love, and shine. We offer both part-time and full-time program options: Part-time 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Full-time 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. We encourage anyone considering placing their child with us to take a tour of our warm and friendly home environment and experience what we have to offer. Tours are given to prospective parents on a year round basis. During the tour parents will get a chance to explore our facility, meet our wonderful staff, and see all of the fun learning activities our Alley Cats do. At that time parents will receive our enrollment application and can join our wait list or enroll their child if space is available. Please contact Maureen Rinker at our location to schedule a tour at 424-289-9471 or maureen@alleycatspreschool.com. For more information please visit our website at www.alleycatspreschool.com.

This type of child care gives families the flexibility to drop their children off for just a few hours or for an entire day, depending on their individual needs. This kind of drop-in service can help to reduce stress associated with arranging more traditional, longer-term child care options.

Typically, drop-in daycares cater to children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years old, but daycares will vary depending on their facilities and requirements. When reaching out to drop-in daycares in Venice, CA, be sure to mention the age of your child or children and confirm they accept children in that range.
