Here at the Smart Start, we strive to provide you and your baby with the happy, healthy learning environment in which your child will thrive. In our Infant classroom, we follow the schedule of each individual child and work side by side with the families to keep consistency and to determine what is best for each infant. We plan and do activities according to each child's stage of development. A brief outline of some activities we do over the course of most days consists of but not limited to helping babies develop the skills of their age group, listen to music and dance, hold, rock and talk to the infants, crafts, read books, go outside for fresh air, sing songs and rhymes, do finger plays, and fun movement activities.
Our toddler classroom encourages our little friends to explore their environment independently. We utilize a curriculum much like our preschool classroom to set them up for a successful preschool experience. Our toddler friends are encouraged, through the Montessori Method of learning, to develop self-care and independence. We begin our day with a warm welcome at the morning meeting carpet. We explore and learn together through teacher-tailored units that utilize the Connecticut Early Learning Development Standards. Our toddler classroom is filled with discovery! We work on name recognition, ABC s, 123 s, and introduce them to a variety of subjects. Your child will be so excited to tell you about the wonderful day they experienced at school! We help our little toddler friends to grow into flourishing preschoolers upon the completion of this enriching program.
The Preschool years are a time in your child's life that is very important. It's a time to learn the basics of life. Our goal is to prepare your child for their education. It's a long road to travel and this is just the beginning. At the Smart Start, we want to help your child grow not only physically but cognitively, emotionally, and socially. Socially, we want to help your child know what is expected of them. This is your child's first classroom and we want to help them learn how to behave at school. We teach students how to sit in their seat, listen and follow directions. There are things that will help your child absorb as much as they can in their learning environment. We also want to help your child learn how to treat others and how to treat themselves. We work on sharing, taking turns, using manners, and much more. Emotionally, we want to help each student learn how to handle their emotions and how to respond to events. Cognitively, we work on a variety of things. We want your child to excel
in all areas.

Creative Beginnings Learning Center

3 Technology Drive, Wallingford, CT

Starting at $8/hr

Creative Beginnings is conveniently located within a mile of I-91 and less than a mile from Route 68 on the corner of Research Parkway and Technology Drive. We provide year-round quality care for children 6 weeks thru 10 years old. Our hours are Monday -Friday from 7:00-5:30. Our center sits on 4 beautiful acres of land in a building designed specifically to meet the needs of young children. Our center offers a safe and secure environment for your child. Access into the building requires an individual code entered into a keypad.

Our directors and teachers work together to provide the best "home away from home" child care experience. Your child will be nurtured, encouraged and challenged to achieve new goals and ambitions. We will work closely with each parent to combine their child's needs with an active learning environment giving your child the confidence, self esteem and knowledge to help them succeed socially and academically.

We believe that a childcare center's success is directly relevant to the quality of teachers it employs. The majority of of our teachers have an average of 10 years experience in the childcare field and most are pursuing or have a college degree in Education or a related field. All new employees complete extensive training in the classroom as well as CPR, first aid and continuing education workshops.

We are confident that our program will offer your child the perfect balance of academics with imaginative adventures. Our teachers plan developmentally appropriate activities around weekly thematic units that are relevant to a young child's interests and natural curiosities. We encourage children to explore their environment and make discoveries about the world around them. Children learn through their daily experiences and while we do follow a weekly theme a spontaneous lesson is never discouraged because life offers many "teachable moments".
