At The Learning Experience Academy of Early Education, we believe that caring for and educating children is a noble and enriching task. We are more than just a child care center. We pride ourselves on the love and respect we provide to each child and their family. We have more than 25 years of experience in providing children with the tools and the environment necessary to achieve their highest potential.

When you walk into our center, you get a sense of being amongst family. We consider our center to be your child's home away from home. At The Learning Experience children are given the support they need to grow socially, physically and emotionally (or LEARN, PLAY and GROW) in a safe and secure environment. High-tech security systems, an exceptional and proprietary curriculum, a well-equipped, clean and sanitary environment and state of the art center are just some of the ways The Learning Experience stands apart from the others. We are proud of our structured, yet fun environment that offers children a world of opportunity to gain confidence and knowledge, all while establishing a love for learning and giving parents peace of mind that their child is in good hands.

It is important to trust the people who are responsible for the care and education of your children. Each staff member is a loving and nurturing individual with exceptional credentials. Teachers and assistants must follow strict guidelines, meet all state certification requirements and are encouraged to participate in sponsored continuing education programs. Mandatory First Aid training and CPR courses are provided annually. Consistent evaluations by superiors and parents help maintain the center's high standard of excellence for its personnel.

We know that choosing a daycare for your child can be a difficult decision. Knowing that, we are here to help and to provide parents with peace of mind that their little one(s) are being cared for in a nurturing, warm and secure environment. Whether your child is an infant or preschooler, we offer the best in age-appropriate care and academic and enrichment programming. We encourage you to visit our center so that you can see first-hand you how we can make a positive difference in your child's life.

WHAT IS O.W.L. PLAYSCHOOL ALL ABOUT?
An amazing Reggio Emilia influenced Group Family Day Care where your child will have a great time learning how to learn

"Each time one prematurely teaches a child something he could have discovered for himself, that child is kept from inventing it and, consequently, from understanding it completely." - Jean Piaget

Our Philosophy
International interest in Italy's Reggio Emilia schools exploded when Newsweek
magazine dubbed them "the best preschools in the world" in 1991. The beautiful philosophy has many educational concepts we value deeply at One World Learning and it inspires our important work with children.

We have:
- Faith in parents: To be informed and cooperative members of the team
- Faith in children: To be interested in what is worth knowing
- Faith in teachers: To solicit multiple points of view, respecting children where they are on their learning journey

We are:
+a team that is fully CPR and First Aid/AED Certified
+a school that is open all year round

We believe:
- Children are born with rights
- Children are competent
- Children use many "languages" to communicate their experience
- Children are not empty vessels to fill with facts, and dates but come to school with ideas, preferences and hypotheses to explore
- In the child as protagonist, collaborator, and communicator
- Children learn best through loving, authentic relationships
- Child development and current brain research best informs our practice In New York's Early Learning Standards and being ready for all styles of Kindergartens but with a spirit of joyfulness that promotes curiosity, problem-solving and open mindedness for a lifetime of learning

We support:
- Emergent curricula that comes from children's ideas, thoughts and observations
- Documentation as communication (pictures, quotes, journals, projects, portfolios)
-The teacher as researcher, partner, nurturer and guide
- The environment as a "third teacher", aesthetically -pleasing and connected to nature as it is our favorite place to be..
- Play and playfulness

We aim:
- For peaceful, unhurried childhoods and parent-hoods
- To be connected with the natural world, the harmony in music and dynamics found in celebrating multi-cultural-ism
- For "Nothing Without Joy!" (Loris Malaguzzi)

All of our teachers are First Aid and CPR/AED Trained
We are open YEAR-ROUND

At Butler Nursery School, we believe that children thrive in an age appropriate program within a safe and nurturing environment. We offer a curriculum designed to foster their growth, stimulate their curiosity, and challenge their mental and physical needs. We encourage the development of socialization skills and the building of self-esteem, while respecting each child's uniqueness as an individual. The classrooms at Butler Nursery School are bright and cheerful. We have a large, mural indoor playroom and a well-equipped outdoor playground. Play is an important aspect of child development. Through play, children explore the world around them by learning how to socialize with others, expressing feelings through language, testing muscular skills, and developing math concepts. We enrich this play through reading, music, art, cooking, and dramatic play.

We offer half day programs to children age 2-4. Programs are offered 2, 3, and 5 days a week (days offered varies based on age). We do not require that a child be potty-trained before entering school. The school year runs from mid-September to early June, and a six-week summer camp is also available.

Some daily activities include free play, music, snack time, playground time, painting, story time, dress-up, circle time, and water play. Throughout the year, Butler holds special events such as our International Dinner, Holiday Festival, Christmas Tableau, and Easter Chapel Services.

Butler is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood in Northeast Yonkers. The Butler Nursery School is a program of St. John's Episcopal Church, Tuckahoe, and is founded on the highest Christian and educational standards. We share the teachings of Jesus Christ through stories, holiday observances, grace before snacks, and child-oriented chapel services. We are a proud member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools. We welcome families of all religious faiths to join us! We are pleased to boast a diverse student body.

Jenny's Loving Daycare Inc.

9 Dickinson, Yonkers, NY

Costimate: $243/wk

My name is Jenny and I have been associated with daycares since 1999. I have four of my own children, the youngest being 14. I began running a daycare because I needed the service for my own children. There was no one to pick up my second youngest child from the bus stop while I was home with my youngest child.

The goal of Jenny's Loving Daycare INC. is to provide your child with a nurturing, loving, and caring environment. My facility and staff are MAT certified, being that they are able to administer medication in the case that your child may be sick. There are guidelines that we follow as of January 5, 2005 for administering medication. For your child's safety we do conduct monthly fire drills and practice with the children on where to meet in a case of a fire and how to safely leave the facility if one does occur.

My facility also provides a very stimulating curriculum for all ages. For infants, story time, floor play and music time is used to stimulate their minds and bodies. They are given toys that consist of different textures for their sense of touch. Young toddlers have music, story time and arts & craft time. They are encouraged to color using their imagination and take part in projects appropriate for their age. Toddlers begin practicing writing their names, numbers and alphabets. We also encourage them to participate in projects that are age appropriate. They are able to paint, use chalk and even attempt to cut out their own pictures for their projects. School age children receive after school help with their homework and when there is no homework assigned then they are able to create their own projects to take home.

We encourage active play, when the weather permits, the children have outdoor play. They are able to play with basket balls, draw with chalk and play on the backyard play-set. My staff and I encourage your children to grow and develop using their own mental capabilities with our guidance.

My facility is filled with lots of love, kindness, compassion, nurturing, cleanliness, fairness and learning. I would not expect any less for my own children and would not provide any less for your loved ones.
