Our House Preschool

Hi There! Thanks for reading a little bit about me! I was raised in a large family, and was the oldest girl which definitely sparked my interest in Early Childhood. I pursued that passion, receiving my Early Childhood Degree and working as a live-in-nanny and lead teacher positions at several daycare centers. Currently, I am the nursery director (ages newborn-3 yrs) and the Puggles Awana director (ages 2-3) at my church. After working years in the child care field, I decided to take a different turn and worked in the corporate office world for 10 years. I married my husband in 2005 and shortly after, we wanted to start a family. It was 5 years of patience and prayers before we were blessed with our daughter, and to our surprise, 15 short months later, twin boys! We made the decision to bring me home to care for our children. I knew this was the right decision, but felt I still had more to offer. That is where you come in the picture. Are you tired of your child not receiving more attention in an overly crowded daycare center? Do you wish your child could have the experience of playing and learning along side children of different ages? Would you feel more comfortable knowing your child is in the care of someone who has credible experience and education, not just a few hours of babysitting experience. I was in your shoes, I know the pressure of providing for the family outside of the home, while worrying about the care of your children. I want to help relieve that stress. I have a unique childcare opportunity. I can provide care for your toddler/preschool age child, in my home and twice a week take them to a preschool, that I operate with my friend. 'Our-House' Preschool, has set curriculum, family style field trips, holiday parties and kindergarten readiness prep. I'd love to share more details about myself, my co-teacher and friend and the unique perks of my family style environment, so please contact me with any questions! Thank You!

Cherished Children Childcare

820 Caulfield Ave SW Grand Rapids, MI

< 1 mi

I am a licensed childcare provider since 2000. I offer childcare for all 3 shifts in my home. Our day normally goes as follows: Breakfast between 8-9, free play, with some dancing exercise or outdoor play. Snack at 10:30 with learning activities. This is based on what the children are interested in, they might be fascinated with butterflies or bugs. So we would have drawing sheets and arts and crafts a few books to read from the library. We will incorporate color, numbers, shapes, whatever we can to learn but still make it fun! We have our morning clean up at 12 with lunch to follow then it is our quiet time/nap. Afternoon snack is 3-4 depending on kids coming and going. Outdoor play or active time based on weather. Children with homework will work on it from 5-6, for younger children this is their learning time also just like we do with the kids in the a.m. Dinner is between 6-6:30 and more free play. We have p.m. clean up at 7:30 then snack at 8. We will begin to mellow out and do quiet activities or have movie night. Bedtime will follow. I do not accept DHS payments for weekend care. Cash only at time of service. I will take your children if they are sick but not if they are contagious. I will give you a calender for the entire year so you will know all closings way in advance. With the exception of power outage and funeral. I began because I was worried about my children who would watch them when I went to work and would they really be good to my kids. The daycare began! I take great pride in hanging out with the little ones when parents cannot. I have a 21 year old that is a nanny and going to school. My 17 year old is dual enrolled so she attends college also. Then I have a 15 and a 14 year old. I could of stopped when they all started school, but I really enjoy what I do.We also have 2 dogs and 2 cats plus one fish! My discipline policy is simple always try to explain and/or redirect but if need be we have 1,2,3, if we get to 3 it is a time out based on child's age - a 3 year old would get 3 minutes. This is even followed with the dogs! I would love to talk more or give you a walk through if you are interested.

Teachable Moments Child Care

614 Fairview Ave NE Grand Rapids, MI

< 1 mi

All ages of children growing together truly makes Teachable Moments Child Care a "family child care." Children experience each other's developmental changes over time. The child who was the youngest yesterday gets to be the eldest tomorrow. This social experience, as well as the routines, prepares children to enter Elementary School ready to learn. We enroll and plan for all children whatever their needs. Individual abilities are respected. We specialize in special needs children and are willing to make adaptations whenever possible. The staff guides a child toward acceptable behavior. Parent's insights about their child's behavior help us better understand and deal with each child. Together, child care providers and parents encourage positive behavior so children develop confidence in their own abilities. Using a positive approach, we can work toward training that fosters each child's self control. Through our discussions, we search for ways to encourage children's independence. TMCC uses all IEPs, METs and Behavior Plans, and our staff will work with the child's educational team.
