Hello! My name Is Ethel. I am a responsible, mindful, considerate individual that respects each child and their needs. I have experience with infants, toddlers, and children up to 14 years. For younger children I can provide pretend play, reading, dancing, sensory play, arts, and crafts so that the child can have fun while learning. For those that are older I can assist with homework. I worked at a Resource Center with kids age 6-14 years; I tutored the children. Many of the children I worked with spoke English as their second language. It was part of my duty to get them to the level of reading and writing that was age appropriate. In addition, I would teach Spanish to the children whose parents wanted them to learn a second language.. Hope to see you soon!

Where do I begin. Ethel has been phenomenal with our son C. She started with us sense he was only 8 weeks old and is now truly just part of our family. She's gone above and beyond with learning activities and was even pivotal in helping us to sleep train. Here knowledge of children and babies has been so helpful being that we're new parents. Also her overall educational background gives such a great perspective on these little guys and helps to validate all the new feelings and obstacles parents sometimes have. C loves Ethel so much we joke that she's the other Mom. We are going to miss her so much. If we weren't moving I would selfishly never write a review so we could keep her forever!

Hello Everyone! My name is Nancy. First of all, I am a home daycare, has me featured as a daycare center. Just wanted to clarify my daycare is in my home. I have been married for 30 years. I have a son that is 29 and a daughter that is 27. I am a grandma (Mimi) to a sweet little girl. I enjoy scrap booking, doing projects around our home, cooking, being outdoors and my husband and I are involved with the make a wish foundation. I love spending time with my friends and family. I was a stay-at-home mom when my two children were young but when my youngest entered kindergarten, I got a job working as a second grade teacher's aide at their school where I taught for 10 years. During summer vacations, I had a summer program for children, kindergarten through sixth grade. After my 2 children graduated from eighth grade, I decided to open my daycare. Having my own daycare has always been a dream of mine. I have always felt a love for children, and I enjoy teaching them and watching them grow. I enjoy being home, and I feel that a small home daycare environment is good because it helps provide them a sense of security starting at a young age and also helps them develop social skills in a setting like their own home.

We do daily crafts, circle time and music time. As a daycare provider, I teach them many things. The children learn their shapes, colors, numbers, and letters at an early age. I feel that this helps with their overall confidence.I start potty training at age 2. Although some children are not interested until a later age. When children reach the age of 2.5 years old, we start our daily educational workbooks (some children are not ready until approaching 3). They feel great pride when they complete their books and can't wait to share them with their families. I encourage children to do what they are capable of doing. The children in become good friends in daycare. They look forward to seeing their friends each and every day. I provide a hot and healthy breakfast, lunch, and 2 snacks throughout the day. Each child has a bucket that they bring to daycare daily, Each child also has a daily journal to let you know how your child's/children's day was. I believe in positive reinforcement and being kind to others. We play outside daily (weather permitting). We have a variety of toys as well as ride on toys, and water tables.

Starting at $65/day

I've been a childcare provider for 30+ years and have worked with hundreds of preschool and school-aged children.

I have taught at public and private preschools, public elementary schools, and family daycare centers including Santa Clara Unified schools, Bowers, Washington Open, Wilson, Briarwood, Hughes, and Montague.

I raised six children of my own and was an active parent participant at their schools and extracurricular activities.

I have 40+ child development units, 130+ hours of professional development training, and an associate teacher's permit.

I am certified in pediatric CPR, AED and First Aid. I have Live Scan fingerprinting, a background check, and am a mandated reporter. I have extensive experience with English language learners.

My licensed family daycare facility (license #434411459) provides a full classroom environment for a variety of learning activities including math, science, cooking, music, sensory development, small and large motor development, conflict resolution, and outdoor play.

Our large classroom includes dedicated areas for reading, art projects, playhouse and dress-up, building, puzzles, science, and cooking, as well as outdoor spaces for biking, water play, climbing, and sports activities. We go on walking field trips to nearby parks and libraries.

I prepare a daily educational curriculum with activities centered around a theme. For example, Letter Jj Day, Counting & Sorting Day, Patterns Day, Cooking Day, Sewing Day, Color Green Day, Feelings Day, Nature Walk Day, Book Day, Measuring Day, Bubbles Day, Exercise Day, Opposites Day, Rhyming Day, Gardening Day, etc.

I provide breakfast, drinks, snacks, teeth brushing, and laundry services. Children bring their own lunches. Each child is provided for individually based on his or her dietary needs.

A report is sent home each day outlining foods eaten, nap times, and the activities that each child participated in.

I am open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. I accept full-time, part-time, and drop-in students ages 1 year and up. Children do not need to be potty trained.

The children in my program are a very large part of each others lives, as well as mine. It is very much like a family.

Georgia's Small Family Daycare

4000 Knollglen Way, San Jose, CA

Starting at $325/wk

I provide a nurturing family style environment for the children and they know that when they are here, this is their home!

You won't need to send meals and snacks to daycare with your child! At my home you can rest assured your child will be served nutritious foods, including whole grains, organic milk, organic infant formula and organic fruits and vegetables in accordance with the current recommendations of the EWG. I even prepare infant foods myself! I don't charge extra for infant formula or foods.

I have the flexibility to offer each child an abundance of personal care and attention. We enjoy daily activities promoting preschool and kindergarten readiness, socialization skills and self esteem.

My homey playroom features natural lighting and a carpeted floor, which I prefer to the fluorescent lighting and bare floors found in most daycare centers. Much of our day is spent listening to music, reading books, practicing Universal Sign Language, having circle time and sometimes even doing yoga.

We dine together as a family at the kitchen table, where we also play games, work puzzles and do arts & crafts. My kitchen overlooks the playroom, allowing me to interact with and supervise the children at all times while preparing our meals and snacks.

The kids love to kick up their heels in my backyard! I have a large, shady patio where they can play in the sandbox or water table, or draw pictures with sidewalk chalk. My lawn is very spacious, where they enjoy a playhouse along with various toys to climb up and slide down. Sometimes we just run around in the sprinklers!

My daycare parents feel comfortable texting me throughout the day; I often text them pictures of their children. I keep my parents updated on their children's activities via my Facebook page, but you will never see pictures of my daycare children on it!

Come visit Georgia's Small Family Daycare. You'll be glad you did!

Tessa's Home Daycare

2315 Talia Ave, Santa Clara, CA

Starting at $15/hr

Hello, my name is Tessa. I started my daycare 6 years ago after being a nanny for over 5 years, and I have the pleasure of being Mama to the sweetest 2 year old boy and 9 month old girl. I enjoy creating a happy home and feel that a small, intimate home daycare environment is a wonderful place for little ones. It's not comparable to any child care centers, nor is it babysitting. It's families in a relationship and partnership with a professional caregiver that builds trust while caring about each other and educating each other. It's an environment that, by design, becomes a second home. In a smaller setting I am able to build a sense of security and help develop social skills in a warm, friendly environment that is not overwhelming and at the same time, provide individualized care.

The children will learn basics like shapes, colors, numbers, and letters, at age appropriate levels through exploration and play. We play games, get messy and experience our environment with different crafts and activities, visit the park daily, read lots of books, and practice kindness and compassion towards others as well as learn other important life lessons. I provide the parents with a daily log to let them know how their child's day was and help keep the lines of communication open.

I have scaled back on how many children I watch, so I can provide the best quality care for each child. I currently have one spot available and since I will only be watching your child and my own, I can ensure that I will be able to provide top notch care.

We have a well behaved, 12 year old Rat Terrier dog named Miles that hangs out in the garage and side yard during business hours and is current on all his immunizations. I look forward to hearing from you and building a trusting and caring relationship with you around your child. Thank you! Tessa
