I have been working in childcare since I was 18 years old. I have worked for the same family for about eight years. I started working for this family when their youngest boy was only 6 months old and their oldest was 3 years old. While working for this family I had the honor of watching these two boys grow into who they are today, and it has been such a heartwarming experience to watch their personalities bloom. Through working with this family I gained so many skills I can now take into all aspects of my life. I think the most important skill I have gained, is patience. Working with kids teaches you patience, because there is so much that kids don't know and so much they still have to learn. This is a skill that translates well into every single aspect of my life. I have also learned that although instant gratification can be great, sometimes what is even more rewarding is planting a seed and watching the seed grow.

Sam was our nanny for 9 years, from the time my kids were 1 and 4. When they were little she changed their diapers, fed them and occasionally gave baths. When then were older she took them to the park, on walks, swimming lessons, sports and played games with them while she was at our house with them. She's very kind and we consider her one of the family. My kids think of her as a big sister rather than their baby sitter. Any family would be very lucky to have her as their nanny.

Aurora was our nanny for over three years and continues to babysit for us regularly. Our three boys were between 0-6 when she was with us full time. We all miss having Aurora in the house everyday. She always shows up on time (or a few minutes early), 100% ready to jump in and help make whatever needs to happen, happen. She is proactive, efficient, reliable, responsible and so loving. We have three young, high-energy boys and Aurora kept pace with them no problem and with a smile on her face. She genuinely enjoys being with children, relating to them, caring for them, and playing with them. So many times, Aurora was on the floor playing Legos with the boys, outside digging in the dirt with construction vehicles, or sitting reading a book with all three kids curled up on her lap and around her. Additionally, Aurora was incredibly helpful with so many things around the house including kids laundry and dinner, and she made my life so much easier. Aurora is a gem.
