I provided Excellent care for a 97-year-old woman for the past 4 years until she passed away in March of 2019. My duties included basic personal care, dressing, light cooking, medication management, dementia support, activities, exercise and transportation. Prior to this job I was a caregiver for a 72-year-old for 1 1/2 years. I provided assistance with grooming, dressing, bathing, meals, transportation and errands. Prior to that I worked in an Assisted Living community for over seven years where I provided emotional support for residents with dementia. I love older adults and I understand their music, culture and interests. I am compassionate, caring and patient. I love dogs and cats.

Karen was hired as a caregiver for my 80-year old parents and worked part-time in their home for 2 1/2 months. My mom was recovering from a fall and my dad had a full knee replacement. Karen assisted in normal household duties that they were unable to perform. She drove them to medical appointments and helped in therapies, such as icing the knee. Because of her help, both parents have fully recovered. Additionally, Karen helped with housekeeping duties -- cleaning and organizing, watering plants, meal prep, and grocery shopping. She gave my parents the special care they needed while they were both recovering and her services were greatly appreciated. She is a special lady with a positive outlook on life and a great sense of humor. She came to work every morning wearing a smile and lifted their spirits. We don't know what we would have done without her. She will always have a special place in our hearts.

Professional Caregiver

I am an older adult male that has been working as an in-home caregiver since 2014. I am currently pursuing a degree in Gerontology at American River College and I have a BA degree in English that I used for a career as a technical writer. I am a registered Home Care Aide with the state of California Department of Social Services that includes an extensive criminal background check. I have no criminal record and an excellent DMV driving record. I became interested in elder care while assisting care givers that helped both my parents through their final decline. I was so impressed by the care and effort they received. I would love to be a part of that process and be able to give back to a segment of our population that I feel is very special. I look forward to talking with you. Professional and personal references are offered and encouraged. Best regards.

As I reflect back on this journey and I ask myself what I am looking for in a caregiver (now that I actually know what I am doing), for me it comes down to three simple needs. I need someone who is dependable. I need someone who is caring. I need someone who will work with me as part of a team to provide the best possible care. Well, I am telling you right now, Dan gets A+++ ratings in all three areas. Many caregivers would show up late or some not at all. Dan was Mr. Reliable. Some caregivers looked like they would rather be anywhere else in the world than helping my dad and were not engaged it made me feel guilty that I could not just stay up 24 hours every day and do the care myself. Dan was like my dad's best friend from day one. They would watch ball games together and talk and Dad always was more relaxed and happy after a Dan shift. I could fill this page up with rave reviews but it limits me. So let me just say, Hire Dan it is the best move you can make.
