It's horrible. The administrator and co-administrator don't listen to residents about concerns or daily living issues. They completely lack any type of real medical care, the on call Dr, dr wilder is not available on weekends like they state they have 24/7 access to on call Dr, no they don't and if you go to the ER at the hospital and are givin a prescription medication, you're supposed to bring it back here to turn it in to get filled and be taken accordingly you'd think if the ER gave you a script or wouldn't be No reason BUT they contact Dr. Wilder and 90% of the time she will discontinue it before they can fax it in to their local pharmacy even! it's rediculous! Staff will tell you if you go to the ER then you know Dr. Wilder will 'dc' (discontinue) any prescriptions you get ESPECIALLY if they are a narcotic! It's like you're not allowed to have pain medication unless it's Tylenol in high amounts which is just damaging you're liver or something else over the counter like naproxen or ib profen. It's just a mockery when you DO go to the hospital and say who your family Dr is and they say *oh my, im sorry* and they are serious cuz they'll still give u scripts you need for what ever problem while telling you they know it's gonna be discontinued but they stated that if you are your own gaurdian then you have the option of filling it at another pharmacy on your own and bring it back to the oaks correctly but tell the med tech you refuse medical advice regarding the *medication or medications* BUT if you do that then dr wilder stops all the meds she has you currently taking so you'll get your way and get your script or scripts but you lose out on anything she's had you on for in some people's cases years as meds so its still a loose-loose. Other than that the rest if the staff is awesome and totally understanding and caring but even the facility's psychologist, one of the first things she tells you is she doesn't condone or approve of any narcotic or controlled substances, which is fine but the DR IS AT THE HOSPITAL and especially some of the older residents or ones with high anxiety or panic attack issues the lady just throw visteril or mood stabilizers at the residents that good and well should be properly accessed but be given something more along the lines of a benzodiazepine in only certain cases obviously not wide spread use but the DR I don't think can even write scripts for such medications hence why she doesn't and Dr wilder handles those for the under a handful out of 50+ residents. Idk place makes no sense and cruedly run and really needs an understanding and helpful administrator and co-administrator that don't say they understand moderate to severe pain thats actually labeled that by specialist not by your self and then they say to use coping skills cuz you can't get any help I mean they make you walk to physical therapy appointments that they know good and well they should be calling a packs Medicaid transit van for you or have Dr wilder order 3000mg of Tylenol smacking your liver daily that still doesn't take the edge off even.
