Definitely recommended! We have several moves under our belts from the Northeast to Southeast, and multiple child care facilities that we've experienced. I highly recommend Goddard and this particular location. In Hershey I visited multiple national centers and was not particularly impressed with all of them, some were ok. This Goddard location was able to clearly explain their approach to children's development and education. We have spent five years with Goddard in Hershey and would absolutely recommend them for the care and development of your little ones.

My child attended for few years, it was great until we expressed some concerns. We,especially my child, got treated very unfairly by the teachers. It was evident in their behavior toward us both because we expressed some concerns to the owners. They all could have behaved more sensible towards a 5 year old child. Very disappointed after paying prime prices to them for several years to provide best care to my child. We ended up pulling my child because we sensed the teachers unfair and irritated behavior towards my child. My child was yelled at by the teachers in front of me because she/he told on them. Not all, but the teachers in my child's recent/current class treated kids according to their liking. We found other parents were also concerned about their behavior towards their kids, but are afraid to say something but they still need the care.

In my opinion if you are a minority or a parent who has shared custody of your child this may not be the best daycare for you. While visiting my child at the daycare I noticed that parents of a boy of Indian origin in the 3 year old classroom were being given the cold shoulder by when they were inquiring about their child. As a parent with shared custody of my child I was denied information about the activity and progress of my child including the photo order form (Spring 2014), and the ballgame outing organized by the daycare in Summer 2014. This information was only provided to the other parent. Even though the daycare knew about the shared custody they did not make the necessary arrangement to ensure that the same information was shared with both parents.

On one occasion I noticed the Director escort my child to the waiting car of a man who had no relation to my child. On inquiring I did not receive a response for more than 30 days. Later on I got to know that the other parent had authorized this pick up. Subsequent to my inquiry the daycare curtailed my visits to see my child. Since this and not providing information about the child to the parent is in violation of the rules that govern daycares in PA I complained to the State of PA.

Subsequent to the investigation by the State of PA this daycare in retaliation removed my child. The franchise owner and involved employees were subpoeaned to testify in court and under oath the owner testified that she did not inform the State of PA about the email sent to me curtailing my visits while her daycare was being investigated.

This daycare in its 3 odd years of being in business has several findings of deficiencies by the State of PA including hiring teachers who have not completed their FBI background check that is required by the State of PA. Check this out at https://www.compass.state.pa.us/compass.web/ProviderSearch/pgm/PSWEL.aspx before you make your decision about enrolling/keeping your child in this daycare. They also do not have a STARS rating which is the recognized uniform rating for all daycares in PA.

I would not recommend entrusting your precious little one to the Hummelstown, PA facility. They are crooks and take pride in scamming people out of their money and calling it a registration fee. My husband and I went into their Hummelstown PA franchise in March. We were given a tour and informed of the many advantages to sending our 3 year old daughter to their school. After careful consideration, we spoke with the in-house owners about our specific needs. We were looking for part time care, four days out of the week consisting of Tuesday-Friday. The owners were very pleasant in letting us know that they did not have anything avaliable right away because this particular classroom had reached capacity. However, they'd expected to have something avaliable by the end of Summer, early Fall, but we were informed that we'd be contacted if they had anything sooner. My husband and i reluctantly agreed and submitted their required $150 registration fee and filled out the needed paperwork in order to place her on the waitlist. In April, I called in to see if anything had changed. Surly it hadn't. I proceeded to call once or twice a month to check for changes. Meanwhile, we had to find alternative childcare. We are now in Mid July. Today I received a phone call from one of the Goddard Hummelstown, Pa employees who notified us that they had a four day opening coming up but it was for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. I reminded them that this would not work with our schedules as we were in need of Tuesday-Friday care. Since its been about 4-5 months with no upcoming openings for summer or Fall at this point and our daughter will soon be enrolled in kindergarten I asked if it would be possible to refund the $150 registration fee. The young lady we spoke too was unable to provide an answer so I was placed on a brief hold to speak with one of the owners. Cindy (one of the owners) was very rude, unprofessional, dismissive, did not listen to reason, and laughed when I asked if we were able to negotiate a refund. Cindy made it clear that the $150 registration fee was NON-REFUNDABLE under any circumstance and that they would normally charge an additional upfront 2 weeks worth of childcare cost whether or not they have a position avaliable. I let Cindy know that this was not good buisness dismissing a potential consumer and that I would be writing a review on my experiences. Cindy stated "that's fine," I was so overwhelmed with misunderstanding and heartbreak as to how someone could be so pretentious. I would just like to inform my readers that before you submit any money or agree to any contract please make sure that you are covered. My husband and I are now out of $150 that could have been put to better use. Please reconsider before taking your little one to this facility. I would not trust leaving my little one in their care. If I were treated this way, I'd hate to see how they are treating children that are in their care.
