About the business
We are a private, State Certified, Veteran's Administration Approved, Personal Care Assisted Living Home - We have been operating for approximately 1 1/2 years - this is our private home and being we are a VA Foster Care Home we are allowed no more than 3 residents at a time, this adds to the 'homey' environment and helps us give more one-on-one attention to our residents - Robbin is the main Care Giver and Michael, her husband, is the secondary / back-up Care Giver - both of us are Certified - Robbin has been doing this for approximately 4 years and Michael for 2 year - we prefer to help ex-Vet's but are open to accepting 'private pay' individuals as well - being we are a Personal Care home, we only will accept residents who are mostly ambulatory and who have only minor medical and mental health care needs - we cannot accept those who require wheelchairs or other devices to move about (walkers, canes are ok) - we cannot accept persons with severe mental issues (we do accept persons with dementia and Alzheimer's on a case by case basis) but can make exceptions if it is shown their issues are being controlled properly with medication - we offer both private and shared room(s) with a bed (medical or regular, as required), chest of drawers, closet, etc., a shared bathroom, a private recliner in the TV / Living Room, delicious and nutritious meals, peace and quiet in a rural, country setting, planned and other activities geared to the residents needs and wants, phone and internet access - we raise our own chickens for eggs and try to grow some of our own vegetable and fruit - this is a place where you will not get lost in a big facility - there is always something to do if you want or if you want to relax you can do that to - we find the VA Foster Care program to be superior to others we've heard of and, if you quality, there are many benefits to both the Vet and Care providers - we have 4 small, well behaved dogs who are a source of comfort to our residents - we will accept pets (SORRY NO CATS - ALLERGIES YA' KNOW) on a case by case basis - this is a place of healing and rest - it is our mission to see our residents happy, healthy and hopeful.
