About the business
Qualifications:
I am a professional early childhood educator with 3 years of experience working with children from ages 0-6 years of age in a center-based setting. I am an approved family care provider and licensed from the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) with a capacity of 8 children. I am also pursuing an Early Childhood Education degree from College of Lake County. To date, I have completed 38 credit hours of Early Childhood Education.
Philosophy:
My name is Anna and I am a proud Champions teacher! I believe that children are precious and a blessing and that makes me feel that my work is meaningful. To me, great teaching looks like creating a sense of community, and so I'm doing my best when children are enthusiastic about learning and socializing with their peers and their teacher. I know that providing children with lots of love and care is the best way to help them learn, prosper, and respect each other and so every day I work very hard to instill wholesome values and positive experiences in children's lives. My approach to teaching is respecting children because experience has taught me that respect is important when working with children. I understand that children will make mistakes, so I always make to encourage them to keep trying. In my classroom, I create an environment that is entrusting and respectful, because I want children to succeed. I take pride in being warm, loving, and having a nurturing personality to make it easier for children to approach me with any curiosities they may have. I believe that relationships are paramount, and I work hard to establish long-lasting relationships. When it comes to curriculum, I think that it should be engaging and fun, and so I make sure that kids in my program are excited about learning. I love teaching because I find it personally fulfilling. Some days are harder than others, and when things get challenging, and in those moments, I am motivated by the smiles of the children. When all is said and done, to me, teaching is everything, and that leaves me feeling accomplished and joyous.
