Kate - I am a public school teacher with seven years of experience in grades 3-5. I am Nationally Board Certified inliteracy. I have tutored students after school and in the summer for many years. References available. Before the Summer: I would like to meet with your child individually for thirty minutes in May or June. This will allow me to get to know your child's interest and assess your child in reading and/or writing. I will use this information to prepare a tailored program to meet your child's individual needs. We can schedule this at a time and location that is convenient for you. There is no additional cost for this session. After the Sessions: Reading: I will provide parents with book recommendations, a strength, and goal for their child. Writing: I will provide parents with a strength and goal for their child. Participating in Both Reading and Writing: There will be a snack break from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for students who participate in both the reading and writing sessions. Students should bring their own snacks. Registration Requirements: No more than 4 students per session. Sessions are on a first come, first serve basis. A 50% deposit is required by June 1st. The other 50% can be paid on the first day of the session.
