Both our children have attended here for the past year and it's just wonderful! Our kids are so excited to go to school every day, the teachers are fantastic and really care about the kids, and the administration really puts the families first. I highly recommend checking this place out for you and your children!

Our son has been at Sequoia since he was 12 months and is now 17 months. I can't say enough good things about the two teachers he has had so far. Amy and Helen have been AMAZING!! They clearly adore our son and all of the kids they care for, and I feel so comfortable leaving him with them. I honestly can't imagine someone who is not family caring so much for our little man. So far we have had a really positive experience here. They do all sorts of art projects with the kids and even teach them sign language, which has really helped with communicating with a toddler who can only say a few words. He clearly loves it there, which makes us love it too.

My son has attended preK at SCC and it has been a wonderful experience. He has thrived there. It is a play based developmentally appropriate preschool and has prepared my child for kindergarten in stellar fashion. The teachers are nurturing yet firm when needed, giving kids the structure they require. I speak to the teachers on a daily basis and get feedback on how the day went. The teachers are very accommodating and have helped my child in so many ways. He loves the activities and all of the outdoor time. He has a love of books, math, and nature. We are very sad to be leaving SCC as we move on to elementary school , for they have truly become part of our family. I highly recommend SCC!

Sequoia Children's Center (or "SCC" as us parents call it) has been the best experience for us with our two children. We started our daughter (who is now 5 and in the Pre-School class until the end of August when she starts Kindergarten) at SCC when she was 3 1/2 months. I remember the day like it was yesterday. I started crying when I was leaving the school and the teachers were all so understanding and reassuring that I knew everything would be OK. We never looked back. My son started at SCC in the baby room when he was just 8 weeks old as I had to go back to work early. He is now thriving in the toddler 2 room, just like his sister did. Overall, we have had the most wonderful experience with the amazing staff and the incredible parent community (we've made friends for life). The teachers and staff are fully committed to each and every child, and in providing them a well-rounded curriculum which includes fun and enriching stories, music, science, language, physical education, dance and art. And for the preschoolers, the best field trips ever. The kids days are filled with discovery and wonder, and never a dull moment. The Staff is also committed to building a great community of active parents where we can all participate on some level, no matter the schedule or resources. It will be a sad day when my daughter no longer attends SCC, but thankfully my son will still be there for a couple more years. I could not recommend SCC, the staff and the teachers higher. We are very proud to call ourselves "SCC parents".

Dear Michelle,

Thank you for your feedback!
We had our child at Sequoia for 8 months and really had several situations that were no okay. He was on formula and the teachers absolutely would not follow safe handling procedures for warming and feeding him. One afternoon I came to retrieve him early and he was crying with a poodle of his own snot below him. When I held him, I could feel he had a fever. Moments later at the doctors office, his fever was 103. When I addressed this with the teacher, she said he was just crying (but our child was not the type to cry unless there was a problem). By the time he was crawling, he would come home with horrible abrasions from crawling for hours on end on their carpets. At that point we moved him to a nanny share which immediately he no longer had the abrasions. I feel like his needs just weren't attended to and the infant teacher was quite difficult to discuss any concerns with. She was defensive and would daily, tell ME things I was doing wrong as a parent. Had our child been with a different teacher in the school, I believe we would have had a more positive experience.

The teachers in the Pre-K class (4 and 5 year olds) offer an extensive curriculum that keeps the kids engaged and interested. Their encouragement fosters each child's growth and development in the most positive of ways. The teachers in this classroom also connect with each parent to ensure they are up to date on special events and field trips, their child's achievements, and areas to focus on with their child to improve skills.
