About
Our early childhood program is built around a comforting daily, weekly and yearly rhythm that nourishes the whole child. Natural materials and simple toys provide our students with ample opportunities for developing their imagination.
The full-day, 8:30am to 3:00pm, preschool offers classes for preschool age children, up to 6 year-olds. The programs are child-centered and inspired by public Waldorf principles. Our credentialed teachers receive training in developmentally and culturally appropriate practices, including early childhood training at Steiner College. We also offer a Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) for 4-year-olds who are 4 by September 1 of the current school year. The state funded VPK program provides 3 hours per day of instruction and requires an eligibility certificate from the Duval County Early Learning Coalition. For families of 4 year olds looking for a Waldorf program or needing full day care, we provide a full-day Waldorf wrap around program for our VPK students.
