Precious Little Learners Care Center

My name is Lavina. I'm energetic, patient, creative and I absolutely LOVE caring for children while assisting them with their development. Over the past nine years, I have worked with children between the ages 12 months old and 7 years old. I mostrecently worked as the lead teacher in the toddler room at a large child development center and, although I really enjoyed the work, I found that with the high numbers of children it was difficult to have meaningful interactions with each child throughout the day. I recently decided to provide care for children in my home so that I could maintain low numbers allowing me to provide quality care. I make observations on each child as they are playing and then set goals to help scaffold them to the next development level. I plan a variety of fun activities based on these observations and goals. I have weekly lesson plans that are theme based. I believe that structure and routine is important therefore I do have a daily schedule. However, my approach to childcare is child centered and child directed. Children are offered choices whenever possible. I provide a healthy breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. My regular hours are 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. My home is clean and smoke/pet free.… Read more
