Our mission at Pebbles & Friends Learning Center is to create well rounded future leaders of our society by implementing a program that nurture the "whole child" and teaches positive self-concept. We believe a child's early experiences enrich andstimulate future growth. Children deserve to be treated and respected as individuals in an environment that welcomes reason, exploration, question, and imagination. We respect each child's need for love, security, acceptance, warmth, and stimulation. Our Learning Center has the structure of a child care center but our environment has a nurturing in-home feel. As a professional child care provider, my goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children where they can learn and grow physically, emotionally, intellectually, and socially at their own pace. I believe children learn through play and benefit from a structured yet flexible schedule. Daily activities will be offered which stimulate sensory motor development, language development and social interaction. The development of strong self-esteem and positive self concept will be achieved through encouraging individualism and promoting creative self expression. Children will be taught to respect each other, adults, and property. They will learn how to form trusting, caring and healthy relationships by interacting with other children and adults(myself, substitutes and student volunteers). Through these interactions, children will learn how to get along with others, express thoughts and communicate feelings in a positive way, accept responsibility for their actions and make conscious choices which will teach them social skills that will last a lifetime.
