At Mrs. Melissa's we have a wonderful backyard with a playground, indoor playroom, and classroom (all state approved).
I engage children in preschool activities, open playtime, arts and crafts, sensory play, and outdoor play. I strive to teach patience, sharing, responsibility, and compassion for self and others. Furthermore, Communication and teamwork will be practiced through participating in the daily routine of our home.
I provide well balanced/homemade meals and snacks. I am an active member with Wildwood food program.
A menu is provided every week. Your children receive breakfast, lunch, and PM snack and all milk is included
In addition, we go on many field trips in the (summer).
(Field trips do slow during the school year but still occur monthly.) Parent newsletter and event calendar gave monthly.

Melissa is an excellent provider. We have two boys enrolled with her, a 2 year old and a 4 month old. Melissa is great because she is like a second mother for your children. She will teach them and love them like her own. She provides fresh breakfast and lunch every day. This is a huge bonus, so you don't have to worry about feeding your kids breakfast in the mornings, or sending them with a packed lunch. She also takes the kids out on frequent field trips to the park, library, museum, etc. Our two boys are very happy at Melissa's and often ask to go to her house after hours. Melissa operates her care out of her house, so there are obvious rules and guidelines to follow that prevent her from being taken advantage of and her home destroyed. Her requests/rules are very easy to abide by, and make a ton of sense if you put yourself in her shoes. We feel very safe and happy leaving our two kids with Melissa every day. If you want your kids to be in a "home like atmosphere" with a second mom looking after them, give Melissa a call.

Price is very reasonable I love that there is breakfast, lunch and a snack provided. Through interviews done. I wish I would have gotten my kiddo into the program sooner.

Melissa is amazing! She always does extra for the children in her care! My son was with her part time, for a short period, at a difficult time in my life and she always made my son feel welcomed and at home. She also had a birthday party for him and a present while he was with her. Thank you Melissa

Our son has been with Melissa since August 2017. She is an EXCELLENT childcare provider. Being that my mom was a licensed childcare provider, and I had great licensed childcare providers myself as a child, I have rather high standards. She met all those standards and exceeded them! We keep a very open dialogue with each on how my son is doing, and she provides excellent care and excellent feedback on his milestones.
It is a very different world from the time my mother was a provider. People are quick to post negative reviews over their emotional reactions to state mandated practices. It is mind boggling to me.
If you want your child to be with a provider who is both constructive, nurturing, and very kind...you should choose Melissa! Thank you Melissa for everything you and your family have done for our son and we are so so very grateful we found you!

BEWARE PARENTS
She is great at first. BUT She is very unethical. She will cancel the contract over nothing and will not refund the deposit of $400.00 (two weeks worth of daycare). She didn't give us two weeks of notice. It is a lot of money for people who are working hard to provide their families.
I know an another family who treated poorly by Melissa. The family gave her two weeks of notice still she didn't refund their deposit.
Stay clear of her day care.

Melissa seems great at first and the I experienced a turn I wasn't ready for. She started making accusations about my son having a stutter. My child is three years old and is learning how to speak. She was very intense about me getting a therapist and how he has a learning disability. She is a child care provider, and in no place to make these sorts of judgments and assumptions. Later I would find out assumptions and accusations are something she does often. My child had been in her care for months and we have seen 3 children leave each in very draumatic ways. Melissa always blamed the parents and including when CPS was called on her by a parent. She is very strict with her contract which initially I liked but she goes against her word often. When I decided to terminate childcare she became enraged. She yelled at my fiancé who was picking my child up with both my written and verbal consent and she refused to let him go. Understanding the protocol I understood why she did this I was not mad by this. The way she treated my fiancé is what made me upset. She treated him with complete disrespect and made accusations that he was "high" my fiancé is a youth pastor and would never to a thing to put our child in danger or harm. When I came to pick my child up she gathered his things in a trash bag and threw it down at my feet while holding another child. Yelling at me and saying "good luck with your family life, by the way your finance was high" completely irrelevant and out of place. She was utterly disrespectful and the kids were terrified. I was appalled.

okay, now for my side...;)This Client was with me for almost a year, if it was not a good fit, then why did she let her child stay in such a horrible inviroment? Very shortly after switching to full-time many problems arose. I have rules I have to follow because I am a licensed provider and if those rules are broken, I cannot, and morally will not release a child to a party that, one, was not on a pickup authorization form and two, showed up intoxicated to pick up above child. Ask yourself this, what would have happened if I released this child and he/she was killed because I did not follow licensing rules to protect him from her fiance' which was intoxicated? I had never seen him before so I was terrified when he showed up demanding the said child to leave with him and disrespecting my childcare rules and home. For the protection of all, I followed protocol and asked him to wait outside till I called mom. He became outraged and My husband, which was home that day and is a Denver Police Officer of 21 years had to ask him to leave the premises. Again, If you want a SAFE, honest, loving, and educational environment for your children, please give me a call. I follow licensing and my business rules to a tee. When those rules need to be enforced parents are not always so happy with the outcome. This is a business, not a babysitting service. God bless all the licensed providers that are following licensing rules and regs including me. If you want a licensed provider, then there are rules Both parent and provider are required to follow. Thank you for your time.

She probably is a good daycare but she doesn't give her future clients a chance first before deciding if it's not a good fit. Very disappointed my kids weren't good enough for her.

I screen all applicants "parents and children" before they may attend my child care, family. "hence, why it is an interview" It is my due diligence to make sure that there will be harmony between new kids and currently enrolled children. What this client fails to mention, is that their children were extremely disrespectful, already breaking toys, hitting his sister, and yelling at dad all within that first interview. The parents had no control over their children, it was NOT going to be a good fit. If you want a calm, loving, and "BY THE BOOK" childcare for your child, MY childcare family is the place for you!!!!

My daughter started daycare with Melissa a few months ago when she re-opened, and we have been incredibly pleased with her daycare! My daughter, who just turned 1, bonded quickly with Melissa and seems to enjoy being dropped off each day! In the short time since being there I have seen her reach many milestones such as crawling and standing and starting to walk which I think is attributable to the awesome interaction she is getting with Melissa and the other kids in her care. Her home is clean and inviting and has wonderful established areas for the kids to do crafts, eat, play, and sleep. I would confidently recommend Melissa to anyone looking for an in-home daycare environment that feels like a second home for the kids while also preparing them for school with learning opportunities and curriculum (Mother Goose). We have been very pleased with our experience thus far, and look forward to many years of care until our daughter is ready for school!

When I saw that first review, I had to respond and defend one of the real gems of the home daycare community. I have been contented to Melissa and her business from the beginning. It is always amazing to me when I see kids start care with her who are fearful and have a hard time seeing mommy and/or daddy leaving for the day. Then only a few days later seeing that same child not wanted to leave with mommy or daddy at the end of the day! The care children receive is structured but fun. They have the freedom to imagine and crate in a warm and safe home. And that is what Melissa provides for all the kids. A "Home away from Home". If you are looking for a place where your child will thrive and feel loved and protected then this is the place for you and your child. Melissa is worth every penny and your child is too.

I found it interesting the only review Melissa's had was from a Melissa T when her name is Melissa Thompson and wondered why availability showed 7. Melissa contacted me on Sunday via text message. After stating I had Sunday or Tuesday evening open she asked if she could call me at 7 pm. I said that would be perfect. She never called so I assumed there was confusion and she meant Tuesday, however, Tuesday evening rolled around and no call. I never received any other communication from her as to why she didn't call. Obviously isn't responsible enough to make a phone call she set up the date and time for so I would never allow her to care for my child.
