Mather Preschool

Our mission is to promote equity in education from birth by providing a high-quality education for young children from diverse backgrounds, encompassing cognitive, emotional, social and physical development, in a safe and caring environment in alignment with (QRIS) national standards.
Mather Preschool is a private nonprofit child development center.

We have four programs:
Zero-to-Three: With low ratios for individualized attention, we focus on the RIE philosophy of respecting babies and toddlers as complete individuals. Meals, snacks, diapers or pull-ups and wipes are included, yes, even baby formula and baby food!

Full-Day Preschool and TK:
Year-round, full or part-time, based on state standards (Desired Results) in a developmentally appropriate curriculum.

State Preschool/ TK:
Free morning class for income-eligible families of Pre-K/ TK students.

Club Mather before- and after-school and vacation day camp program serving 5 local elementary schools.

Help families access supportive services when needed, to advocate for families having the opportunity to succeed.
To provide the equity benefits of attending a high-quality early childhood education program to as many at-risk children and their families as possible.
Specifically, the child development team seeks:
To teach children to respect themselves, others and their environment.
To provide a safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate learning environment, in alignment with The State of California s Desired Results for Children and Families.
To develop creativity and critical thinking skills in children.
To provide for children's social and emotional development.
To provide opportunities for staff to grow through professional development.
To provide resources for parents about child development and other relevant topics.
To enable administration to act as a support system for parents and staff.
