Mather Preschool

Our mission is to promote equity in education from birth by providing a high-quality education for young children from diverse backgrounds, encompassing cognitive, emotional, social and physical development, in a safe and caring environment in alignmentwith (QRIS) national standards.<br/>Mather Preschool is a private nonprofit child development center. <br/><br/>We have four programs:<br/>Zero-to-Three: With low ratios for individualized attention, we focus on the RIE philosophy of respecting babies and toddlers as complete individuals. Meals, snacks, diapers or pull-ups and wipes are included, yes, even baby formula and baby food!<br/><br/>Full-Day Preschool and TK:<br/>Year-round, full or part-time, based on state standards (Desired Results) in a developmentally appropriate curriculum.<br/><br/>State Preschool/ TK:<br/>Free morning class for income-eligible families of Pre-K/ TK students.<br/><br/>Club Mather before- and after-school and vacation day camp program serving 5 local elementary schools.<br/><br/>More about us: <br/>We:<br/>Partner with families in meeting the developmental needs of their children.<br/>Ensure curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment are developmentally appropriate and meet or exceed state standards (Desired Results).<br/>Help families access supportive services when needed, to advocate for families having the opportunity to succeed.<br/>To provide the equity benefits of attending a high-quality early childhood education program to as many at-risk children and their families as possible.<br/>Specifically, the child development team seeks:<br/> To teach children to respect themselves, others and their environment.<br/> To provide a safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate learning environment, in alignment with The State of California s Desired Results for Children and Families.<br/> To develop creativity and critical thinking skills in children.<br/> To provide for children's social and emotional development.<br/> To provide opportunities for staff to grow through professional development.<br/> To provide resources for parents about child development and other relevant topics.<br/> To enable administration to act as a support system for parents and staff.<br/> To promote Equity, Access, and Social Justice… Read more
