At Habonim Dror Camp Tavor we welcome campers from a variety of Jewish backgrounds. A goal of Camp Tavor programming is for campers to create their own meaningful Jewish community. We serve only kosher food and have separate dishes for meat and dairy meals.
Each age group has its own campsite and bathing facilities. Each campsite is where campers rest, sleep, and bond with other kids in their age group. Our youngest campers, live in cabins, while all of our older campers live in tents. Each cabin or tent can accommodate between five and eight boys or girls. Campers sleep in bunk beds, have shelving and cubbies for their clothing and other belongings, and use mosquito netting to make the most of outdoor summer sleeping. Bathing facilities include electricity and running water with multiple toilets, showers, sinks, and shelving to store personal belongings.
Supervised by lifeguards and other trained staff members, our campers have the opportunity to swim and enjoy our lakefront every single day! On the first day of each camp session, we assess our campers' swimming abilities and take note of each camper's needs. Lessons can be organized for those campers who have not yet learned to swim. We also have boating at Camp Tavor. All campers may participate in canoeing and row boating with lifeguard supervision.
