Our entire family is so grateful for the amazing care FirstLight provided to our Dad. Everyone at First Light was amazing, so hard-working and they really cared about his well-being. Every member of the team did their part and we can't thank them enough. Would definitely recommend them!

My family has been very pleased with FirstLight, and with the great people they have sent to care for my mother (over 100 years old) and offer companionship during the day. FirstLight sets a high standard for their employees who are dedicated, responsible, and caring. They have engaged with my mother in ways that have contributed to her physical and cognitive health by helping her to go for walks to and read the newspaper. They have also been there to deal effectively and compassionately with her bouts of physical discomfort. Response is immediate as the director can be reached by text message or e-mail. We have tried other agencies and FirstLight is truly exceptional. We have been with them for over six months now.

To be clear: we were never able to actually hire aides from FirstLight in Medford, because our family member passed away suddenly before we could do so, so this is not a review of the company's care, per se. However, I want to say that when we were looking for an alternative care agency and I met with owner, Girish Lahoty, he was respectful, sensitive and responsive. An agency should support families who are doing the difficult work of caring for their loved ones at home. Having had negative experiences with other care companies, the caring qualities I experienced in my conversations with Mr Lahoty were notably better.

Our family is very pleased with the care my father in-law has received from the staff at FirstLight so far. The whole process has been smooth and seamless. From the very first contact with Girish, the president and owner to the home care director, Saundra, to the staff coming to the home, it has been worry-free. Girish was very helpful and was able to answer all our questions and concerns. Saundra is always available when we need her, lets us know if there will be any changes in the schedule or staffing. There are no surprises and we like that! Other agencies have not been this reliable unfortunately. My father in-law is very happy with the care is receiving and as nurses ourselves, it speaks volumes if we are happy too!

I highly recommend FirstLight Home Care. I hired them to provide care to my cousin who urgently needed daily help. Girish the owner of FirstLight has been so helpful in providing someone for my cousin on short notice and accommodating her schedule. The caregivers who have helped my cousin have been kind, competent, trustworthy and reliable. My cousin has been well taken care of and she has enjoyed the caregivers' company. I am so at ease knowing my cousin is being well taken care of. Thank you FirstLight Home Care!

I am most grateful that FirstLight Home Care exists - because they facilitated my cataract surgery and subsequent visits for post op appointments. Their drivers in both instances were competent, friendly and caring - everyone was on time, they knew their way, and once having delivered me to the hospital they were willing to wait while I was being taken care of, which made the return pick up more efficient.
I also note that the fees the company charges for these services are very reasonable.
In short, I am delighted that service exists, and am very likely to use them again - in addition to recommending it to friends and family who might also need help.

We have been using First Light Home Care of Boston for the past two years. We have had nothing but a positive experience and feel fortunate that we use them. My husband David has Parkinson's with dementia. His caregivers are kind, patient and professional. They take David out for walks, out for breakfast or lunch and do errands that he wants to do such as picking up his prescriptions or dry cleaning or grocery shopping. They treat him with care and respect. I am very grateful to have them in our lives.

Following knee replacement surgery I unexpectedly found myself confined to my home for five months, requiring in-home nursing, physical and occupational therapy and home health aide services. Fortunately, our health insurance connected us with this fine firm who sent Skylar to help me with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, laundry, linens, meal preparation, trips to the pharmacy and rides to the doctors. Skylar was a god-send: cheerful, punctual and totally dependable. Anyone needing such services can call your group with confidence.

My family and I met Girish just before my dad was released from rehab. Since we had never needed this type of service before, we were not sure what to expect. First Light has not disappointed. They assigned a small group of caregivers, and the ones they sent to care for dad have been awesome. They were adept at helping walk and transfer my dad, as he is getting stronger. But just as importantly, they have all been so kind and encouraging to my dad (and mom). They have made this difficult transition so much easier than we expected. Thanks to Girish and Saundra for hearing our needs and being so supportive, and to the caregivers, who are great at their jobs. If you are looking for home health care.....look no further.

If you need help caring for a family member, I highly recommend First Light. I had been taking care of my husband on my own for five years and decided I needed some extra help. After talking to various companies, I settled on First Light. They work with you to find the perfect fit of caregiver to patient. Through my husbands dementia, First Light provided me with excellent service. The caregivers assigned to my husband were compassionate, competent, and kind. Any interaction I had with anyone from First Light was always friendly and helpful. I'm glad that I chose First Light for my husbands care. Truly a caring company.
