Delta Retirement Center has been a godsend for my parents. Some great people work there and I think they have less turnover than many places. It's independent senior living - not full assisted living, but that was just what my folks needed. My parents have their own two bedroom apartment with kitchenette. Two meals a day are available and my Dad loves the food there (while mom prefers to cook her own.) There is an inhouse home health care group on site that can be hired to provide additional services as they are needed. I have them managing my dad's insulin and blood tests for diabetes care and his daily medications and they are terrific. Though all such places are expensive, they are better priced than many other local options and while it's not a super ritzy place, it in a good place to live with good staff who genuinely seem to care about the residents. It's not a chain. It's owned by an owner who seems fairly involved and interested in keeping the place up. I'm there visiting at least every other day at all hours and I've never once seen anything that concerned me. My folks are in their 80s and have their idiosyncracies and staff work with them with patience, humor and compassion. When the time comes my husband and need help, we would live here ourselves. The director is an RN and she has been very helpful with any challenges my folks have faced. No place is perfect but Delta has been as close to perfect for my family as we could find and afford. Wish they had central air instead of just window unit conditioners, but that's truly the only things we've wished for that they don't have.
