I have been on the waiting list for the East Lehi location since November, 2016 patiently waiting for a spot for my 2.5 year old little girl. A spot finally opened and we were so excited to start the week of March 27, 2017! After moving last fall I needed to find a new provider. We were spoiled by our previous childcare experience (Montessori Learning Center in Lindon), so the bar is set pretty high for our expectations of a child care services provider and this was a leap of faith for us to come to a traditional daycare center. After being notified that our spot opened I went to pick up our packet and brought my daughter for a walk-through so that she would be familiar with the facility when I began leaving her there the following week. I expressed to the two staff members (neither of which could have been much older than 18) that my daughter is very high energy and had been moved classrooms at Montessori because of it. I was merely gauging their safety measures and asking questions about structured activities and their daily schedule. Well, the next day I received a TEXT MESSAGE (not even a phone call!) stating that Bright Beginnings is no longer willing to accept my child due to behavior concerns combined with their large classroom sizes. What!? I immediately called the facility confused and upset that their Director, who apparently made this decision based off of what the girls who showed us around had told her, didn't even call me to discuss what she heard or to express her concerns! Instead, after waiting for 5 loooong months for our spot, I get an extremely impersonal text message informing me that they aren't willing to take my daughter anymore. Incredible! To add insult to injury, I was promised that the Director would be calling me to discuss the possibility of a "trial week" the next day - and that call never came. I simply can't believe how this situation was handled. Had I been given the opportunity, I would have been able to better explain that my daughter was moved classrooms at Montessori (not kicked out, like the girls apparently relayed) simply because she is a high-energy toddler and at that time the older and somewhat overweight teacher couldn't keep up with her. She didn't have any issues with the new teacher, who was younger and more active. Add to all of this that the girl at the desk who texted me and took my call is quite rude! Not just on this occasion, either. She has answered a few times over the months when I've called to check on our place on the waiting list. Perhaps this is all a blessing in disguise, because if this is the level of professionalism and courtesy that is offered here, then I wouldn't be comfortable leaving my most prized possession in their care anyway - not even for a "trial week". I'm leaving this one-star review because I am just beside myself with how this situation was handled. Totally and completely inconsiderate and unprofessional. They informed me via text message of a significant decision that they made solely based on hearsay without ever affording me the courtesy of a conversation. It was treated totally nonchalantly, and the interactions surrounding this event have bore zero regard to how long we have waited or for how long we may have to wait again on someone else's waiting list. I am a widow (ergo single parent), and I have to work full-time. My current arrangement should have been temporary and now it is extended. I was shown no consideration and no compassion whatsoever. I should have paid better attention to the fact that the majority of the stellar reviews are either several years old or they are for their West Lehi location before I got too excited about this place. Do yourself a favor and pay that little bit extra to take your children to Challenger just up the road. We would have gone there to begin with, but toddlers have to be potty trained and we aren't quite there yet.
