About

I am currently looking to watch two children in my home full time starting September 3rd. I will be open and available 6am - 6pm Monday through Friday. I live in Avon behind the Washington Township park and I am in the Pine Tree Elementary school district.
I have two children of my own, my son, who is six and in first grade and my daughter, who will be two in October. My husband and I have been married for seven years. We also have a small dog (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) in the home so even though she is typically kept away from the children if allergies are an issue for your child my home may not be the best choice for them.
I am only looking to take on two children as I want the caregiver to child ratio small so that I can give each child the attention they deserve. I believe very strongly in structure for children, I believe children rely on this emotionally and behaviorally. For this reason your child's day with me will be structured and predictable every day they are with me. I am currently teaching my daughter signs from American Sign Language and I am finding this reduces so much frustration in small children. For this reason I plan on working with all of my kiddos implementing some signs in their communication skills. I plan on finding age appropriate and developmentally appropriate educational activities for our children to work on daily in their schedule. I believe physical activity is also a must so when weather appropriate we will have outside time on a daily basis. During downtime, when I am fixing a meal or while waiting for parents to pick up there will be some TV time. This will always be educational TV and always the Disney Channel or Disney Junior. I have found that the Disney channel doesn't have commercials to flood their minds but also the programing is slower paced. Studies have shown that children who watch fast paced cartoons such as Spongebob and others like it are more likely to have a short attention span because the children become used to the fast paced jokes and storylines.
I will serve breakfast, lunch and two snacks. Meals will be well rounded with a protein as main dish and fruit or vegetable at every meal.
I keep a very clean home, sweeping and dusting daily and our home is SMOKE-FREE.
My rates are $30/Day cash for a total of $150/Week. I expect payment every Friday for the following week.
