Welcome to Julie's Little Learners, a place where children learn through songs and manipulatives, smiles and giggles are a normal part of the day and safety is number one! My name is Julie Fagnani, I have been a nanny for about 15 years for a variety of ages and have been a teacher for 3 years. I have taught pre-school, and elementary school and run several summer camps as well as after school programs. I have earned a masters in Education as well as a teaching credential. My undergraduate degree is in Recreation, kinesiology and Early Childhood Education. My education and work experience allows me to create a fun curriculum for children of all ages. I have created a literacy curriculum that is proven to get students ready fro pre-school and above and a series of active games that keep children moving, happy and stimulated. A day with Julie includes circle time including but not limited to one-vowel and two vowel songs, letters recognition, math chants and number recognition and interactive story time. Exploration time is next where children will participate in age and level appropriate activities using manipulatives and various curriculum based materials to enhance learning and motor skills. I provide a caring, supportive in-home setting where your infant or toddler will thrive in a very small group. I'm committed to having no more than 3 children in my care so that I'm able to provide lots of individualized attention, comfort & support to each one. I find it incredibly rewarding to help babies & young kids learn new skills and behaviors. In my down time I read books, articles, & other research about childhood development to make sure I'm doing all I can to help them grow into the best little people they can be. My daughter is a joy to be around--very alert, high-energy...& maybe bit headstrong(!), so I've also learned different techniques to help keep her happy, engaged, & well-mannered. I'm so proud of the little girl she's turning out to be, & it excites me to help other little ones along their journey as well. As a child, I spent many years attending an in-home daycare run by an amazing caregiver who felt like family to me, & that's the same care I hope to provide for others. After spending 15 years in a fast-paced, high energy professional position, I'm taking time off to stay home with my daughter, who's just under 2 years old. I'm passionate about caring for children of all ages; I've worked with children in some capacity for the past 20 years. I'm the oldest of 4, the youngest of whom is 20 years my junior, & I was a nanny for a family with 4 kids (ages 2 mos-12 yrs) for 5+ years, providing daily & some overnight care. I also provided babysitting care to several families throughout high school & college (ages 2-8), & in adulthood, I've always been the first to offer care to my friends who need help with their kids--I'll find any excuse to spend time with little ones! I use redirection & positive reinforcement as my disciplinary tactics, I'm skilled at getting infants & toddlers on consistent schedules, and I also have extensive experience with supportive sleep training (not ever cry-it-out). I live in a fantastic neighborhood with its own park, as well as a nearby library & walking trail; I spend a lot of time reading with the kids throughout the day, playing with educational and age-appropriate toys, and we also visit the Denver Zoo & the Museum of Nature and Science frequently. As a consideration to those with allergies or sensitivities, I have 2 dogs who are outside during the day, and 2 cats who stay inside. All four animals get along very well with kids of all ages. Thanks so much for taking the time to read my profile!

The Children's World School

7700 W Woodard Drive Lakewood, CO

Our school focus is on the development of the whole child's intellectual, social-emotional, moral, creative and physical growth. The environment will be intentionally prepared to motivate our students to learn about their community and the world around them. We will guide our students toward being compassionate, curious citizens. We provide a developmentally appropriate and engaging atmosphere in a nurturing and secure setting. We will strive to promote each child's ability to reach his or her greatest potential by allowing them to learn through discovery and play. The Children's World School was founded to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment for children ages one to five. Our program operates Monday-Friday from 9:00am-12:00pm. Our school year will run from mid August to the end of May. Our calendar is based off the Jeffco School Calendar. A healthy snack will be provided each day for each student and will be served mid morning. The extended day option is from 12:00- 3:30. If students stay for the extended day they will need to bring their own lunch. We are a nut free facility to accommodate children with allergies and work closely with those parents to make sure their children are safe with participating in our program. At The Children's World School we have an original curriculum. Our curriculum is student driven and play based. Our school has over arching themes that students will all be learning about each month though our curriculum will be tailored to each individual group. An example of this would be in the Brown Bears class the oldest students might learn about the Japanese tradition of O-Bon by reading non-fiction books, discovering how things sink and float and by trying to make their own lantern to float! The youngest students our Koalas would also learn about Japan at the same time, but they would be listening to traditional Japanese music, playing with fabric from Japan, hearing their teacher count in Japanese and interacting with hands on regalia from that culture. Children of all ages will be learning through hands-on, play-based activities. We will also allow our students to guide their learning by exploring more of what interests them. Our teachers will be flexible to add things to their lesson plans as they see what interests and engages children in their classes. We aim to include additional areas of study in order to let our students explore different areas of interest.
