Casner Christian Academy

3838 STECK AVE AUSTIN, TX

11 mi

Casner Christian Academy is celebrating 58 years of loving, nurturing and serving Austin's children and their families with an emphasis on faith and family values, patriotism and fun! We have room in our 4's class and our hours are 8:50 AM to 1:30 PM mid-August through mid-May, with the option of early care at 8 AM and late stay until 3:15 PM or 5 PM. With God's goodness and grace it is our mission to pour the love of Jesus into the hearts of our students through personal relationships with each unique child; instill Godly character into their little souls; and provide the whole child with ample opportunities to learn and grow emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. Our loving and well-tenured teachers foster a love of learning and joyfully introduce our students to phonics, handwriting, numbers and relational and problem-solving skills through play-based activities; exploratory centers; music; art; gross motor movement; Bible lessons and Chapel; and time spent outdoors on nature walks and on the playgrounds. We would love to welcome your child and family into our CCA community and share with you the wonderful traditions that spark creativity in our students and inspire their confidence and independence including our weekly flag-raising ceremonies; monthly Sing Song performances; and our annual Christmas and Spring Programs. We look forward to the opportunity to meet you and your child and help you discover this special legacy that is Casner; a Christian school and community that truly feels like home.

Little Dudes Learning Center 3

6201 CROW LN AUSTIN, TX

3 mi

Little Dudes Learning Center opened in 1961 when Mrs. Ellen Smith realized the need for childcare in South Austin. Although it was still primarily undeveloped, South Austin was growing. The IRS had just opened their Austin facility. Little Dudes Learning Center was the first childcare center to open in Austin, south of the river. Following the opening of the first center on Sandra Street, an after school care and summer camp was introduced at the Crow campus, in 1972. An additional Maufrais center opened in 1980. We are proud of maintaining the longest lasting, accredited learning center in Austin.

St Mark Children's Day Out

601 W Braker Ln Austin, TX

12 mi

We are a licensed half-day church children's day out program in Northwest Austin open from 9 am to 1:30 pm for children 18 months to 5 years old, Monday through Thursday, September to May and on Tuesdays and Thursdays in June and July when we also add a summer program for children who have completed kindergarten through 5th grade! We are a ministry of St. Mark United Methodist Church and began as a two-day program many years ago! We are now a licensed childcare center through the Department of Family and Protective Services. Our building is brand new after a renovation that lasted 2 years. We moved "home" in May 2015 and are really enjoying our shiny, new building! Our staff and teachers are educators who have a love and passion for teaching and enriching young lives and believe that getting paid is just a small bonus for being able to serve God's youngest children during these important formative years. Most of the teachers have college degrees (or equivalent experience). The director has served for 24 years as either director of this program or in full time children's and youth ministry! She brought her own young sons to this program when they aged into the program at 18 months, and was a board member, teacher, and then director officially in January 2009. The preschool is lead by a parent and church volunteer board who does the hiring and planning for the school, making the tough choices on when to raise tuition rates and when to reward teachers and staff with pay raises! The school is play based understanding that children learn best when they are enjoying the learning component. The curriculum is planned and shared weekly by the lead teachers in each classroom after a school year based calendar is distributed each August. Each classroom is never more than a 12 students to 2 teacher ratio. This is a great time to join our school as we enjoy a brand new building, an amazing playground with lots of room for small children to roam and explore, and an exceptional staff and currently enrolled students! Check out our recently new and improved website and schedule a tour today! It will be a blessing to be a part of the St. Mark CDO family!

Natasha M

10606 Settlers Trail Austin, TX

16 mi

I am a caregiver by nature. As a child beginning at the age of 8, I was responsible for helping my single mother care for my 4 siblings. During and after college I cared for children ranging in age from newborn to 10 years old. I have had the privilege of working with children as a nanny, an aunt, a godmother, mentor and volunteer and my most important role to date as a mother. My oldest son is 18, my oldest daughter is 12, my youngest daughters are 4 and almost 3. (15 months apart- you know you were wondering!) Various points in my career have taken my focus away from my first loves, children and gardening. I'm thrilled to have come full circle back to the things that make me happiest! My home daycare is designed for pre-school age children between the ages of 2-4. I've worked to create a play based curriculum that will prepare your children in my loving family home for pre-school as well as teach them all about the environment, being good stewards and urban agriculture.
