Twenty years ago, I was fortunate enough to be able to leave the work force and stay home with my two amazing daughters; a decision made jointly with my husband that was the best option for us. Every family is different, and contemporary couples have many, many factors to consider when making decisions about work and how it fits in with their plans with regard to raising children. Once my girls were in school, I returned to work, part-time, and enjoyed a wonderful balance of work, home life, and volunteerism. I was able to teach an after school enrichment class (ethnic cooking), as well as serving as the "art mom" in both my daughters' classrooms. When a close friend was expecting her second child and planning to continue working, she asked if I would be interested in leaving my job and caring for her toddler and infant-to-be. I jumped at the chance, knowing how mutually beneficial this arrangement would be. My friend had always admired my patience and unflappable humor in parenting, so I felt very appreciated. For her part, the stress and anxiety of finding a loving sitter who would treat her kids as their own was eliminated. I was at the hospital to meet the new baby (my charge!) and the mom returned to work a week later, beginning a sweet and tranquil 18-month period, where I spent many happy hours, and some difficult ones too, with the two children. It worked out wonderfully for all involved, and although they live in another state, we remain close friends and the children are happy and successful. In the intervening years, I have worked outside the home, and always yearned for the simpler, more real, experience of spending time with children. It is the most rewarding work of all to me, and with my girls in high school and college, I am ready to leave office work and once again care for a child/children. Can this work really be sustaining? I believe so, and would welcome the chance to form a long-term relationship with the right family. I am certified in infant, child and adult CPR. In addition to my love for children, I am also a passionate cook, and would welcome the chance to help out with meals, whether special occasion or everyday.

Hi there! I am a 42-year-old professional single mother of a 14 yr old. I currently am a household manager for a family of 5 here in my hometown of Napa. 2 years prior, I cared for a 2-year-old baby girl F/T for 1 1/2 years, also for a family here in Napa. Before I became a private nanny, I worked for Napa Valley Unified School District for the past 8 years as a behavioral specialist providing children in grades K-12 who have autism, developmental & physical disabilities, as well as emotional/behavioral challenges. I absolutely loved it. I'm available to work full time & or part time nannying, running errands, cooking, cleaning, caring for your pets, you name it! I have expertise & extensive experience in all fields. If you think I would be a good fit for your family's needs, I'd love to hear from you & schedule a day/time to meet. Thank you for your time & consideration. :)

Monica nannied for us over the past year, she started with us in January ('18) when my daughter was only 7 months old. When we started our search for a nanny, my husband and I were extremely nervous and skeptical that we'd be able to find someone that we trusted enough to care for our daughter. The minute we met Monica we fell in love with her; not only did my husband and I instantly connect with her but so did our daughter. From day one, Monica was extremely loving and caring to our daughter, she exemplified all the characteristics you hope and pray for in the person taking care of your child - patient, kind, and trustworthy. Monica went above and beyond for our daughter, she taught her so much and had a dramatic impact in her development. Hadley is a very verbal and communicative 19-month-old thanks to Monica. Monica sang with Hadley, read books to her every day, and taught her how to count to 10 before she was 15 months old. Monica is an amazing person with a heart of gold!
