My home is a safe haven for kids to just play and enjoy themselves while away from caregivers and or parents. I never have more than 6 kids at one time , at any given time. If weather permits, I like to walk to our local parks or sit outside with the kids in my yard on our mini jungle gym. Limited screen time here but a movie night is fun as well. I do overnight care short term as well. I have a limited personal kids library collection but I do trips to the local library every week to keep them entertained. I do need to update my CPR and first aid but I am no stranger to the safety and precautions when it comes to little ones. I would describe my home and the environment as clean(not always tidy with kids running about) safe, caring and relaxed (I don't cry about spilled milk or writing on the wall). I also do not discipline children in any fashion. I redirect and separate and comfort. A hug and an open ear goes a long way sometimes. Violence is absolutely not tolerated in my home. Any child or parent that jeopardizes the safety of the kids in my care or myself will be banned from my home and care. I also am available for date night drop offs or long weekends. Dates as available. I understand and take all allergies into consideration. However, I have a cat and a dog so it is best to not have these types of allergies and come into my care. The animals are child friendly and NEVER left alone with any child (excluding my own) at any time, for any reason. Prices vary per children and the schedule they are in my care. I ave been doing in home childcare in Va. Beach since summer of 2008. I moved to Virginia Beach in the summer of 2007 . I lived in Michigan for 30 years before we moved to Virginia Beach. While living in Michigan I had a state licensed childcare in my home from 2000-2006. I have always enjoyed taking care of children and helping them learn and grow. I went through CPR and First aid and did many hours of early childhood development training classes through the 4C's. I was also a live in Nanny for a family in Chicago who had six children for 6 months back when I was 17 years old. While having my in home daycare in Michigan I was approached by one of my daycare moms to help her out in a bad situation and go above and beyond client/provider relationship and asked me to take custody of her daughter. The courts granted me temporary legal guardianship of her daughter so mom could move out of state and get back on her feet. I had this child in my home for a year. I just wanted to let you know this as I am not in this business for the money, I do this cause I truly love childcare. I am a very trustworthy, loving and caring person and if the courts were willing to give me legal guardianship of a little girl that had no relationship to me or my family what so ever then I think that I'm a pretty good egg. =) I have a smoke free home but do have pets. I have a huge fenced in back yard with lots of outdoor and indoor toys and live on a dead end cul-de-sac. I have everything that you would need for a baby. My rates are $125 per week for full time and $75 a week for part time per child, my drop in care rate is $30, over night care is $15 more. I also do weekend care. I also offer multi child discounts. I provide all my parents an end of the year tax statement with my EIN on it so you can claim all childcare on your taxes. I provide all healthy meals and snacks. The only thing that I ask my parents to provide is diapers, wipes, pull ups, baby formula and jar baby food and extra change of clothing.
