Tutor For High School Spanish & Anything Elementary
When I was attending Walla Walla University, I was given the privilege to work at the local elementary school close by. There I was able to work with grades k-3 and then after school with grades 4-8 at a local junior high. At the elementary school I was given the task to help with reading, writing, and math. Also, since I was a Spanish major, I mostly worked in bilingual classrooms where I helped students who only spoke Spanish to transition to practicing English.
Then as I got closer to graduating, I began my student teaching at the local high school. There I was in charge of 3 classes. That was when I was able to put my tutoring skills to work as I was their "teacher" and it helped me a lot as I learned to accommodate the ways that I taught and the ways that I helped my students.
Now that I completed my first year as Spanish teacher, this last school year, I feel very enthusiastic to keep helping students outside of the classroom with their school/home work and to help them succeed in whatever area they are needing assistance with.
