Looking for a female part-time caregiver for our adult child with special needs (22 years of age). Our child lives in a community with other adults with special needs. Our family member has Cognitive Disabilities, Developmental Delays, Speech Delay, and controlled epilepsy. The caregiver must be compassionate, kind, empathetic and have a positive attitude. The caregiver must be able to drive for the position. The job entails running errands, going to the grocery store, driving to and from horse-back riding, computer assistance, laundry, light housekeeping and some meal preparation. Criminal background check and driving record check will be required. A good sense of humor is essential, a person who is engaging, as well as one who provides processing time when communicating.

Prepare 2 children for departure to school. Assist with bringing one child to bus stop in the morning. Driving another child to school. Pick up one child from school in the afternoon. Meal preparation. Must have own reliable transportation. Must be knowledgeable and have experience with children with Autism. Non-smoker.

I need help with backup and after school care for three children, one of whom has special needs but is high functioning (anxiety and sensory motor disorder). Because of the latter, I need care from someone with experience/training in education and special needs, particularly in dealing with anxiety and setting down firm rules. E (the child with special needs) will also need to be driven to occupational therapy 1-2 times a week. The youngest, L, may need to be picked up from school for naps at 1 pm, with the other children coming home on the bus at 3:40.
