Senior Caregiver Available For Part-Time Work (including Overnights)
Avg response < 15 hrs
I have been working one-on-one with the elderly for the past 5, going onto 6, years. I began volunteering at a local nursing home 7 years ago and became a Caregiver for said nursing home 2 years later. 3 years ago, I became a Senior Caregiver for Home Instead Senior Care and Griswold Home Care.
I have worked with a wide array of seniors including those who require:
- Light housekeeping
- Safety assistance
- Transportation (doctor's appointments, grocery store, etc)
- Alzheimer's and dementia care
- Hoya lifts
- Personal care (incontinence, bathing, grooming, etc)
- Medication reminders
- Meal preparation
- Monitoring changes in health and mental status
- Hospice care
- In home care
- Nursing home care
Being a Caregiver is a rewarding passion of mine that allows me to help elderly residents who otherwise have little to no means of aid. It brings me great joy when I am able to bring a smile on a resident's face, even if just for a moment. Sometimes all they need to know is that someone is in there for them who truly cares about their happiness, safety, and overall well-being.
I graduated at Penn State in May of 2015 with a Bachelor's of Life Sciences and am currently in pursuit of a Master's of Health Administration. I wish to attend medical school after obtaining my master's and become a doctor or Geriatrics (the elderly). In the long-term, I wish to use my knowledge of the elderly to open nursing home communities with a wide range of provided care. My love and passion for working with the elder community heightens with each encounter.
I am experienced, trustworthy, and responsible but most importantly, I love my job. I do not see it as a set of duties, but more so as a means to help others. You can trust that I will make a positive impact on your senior's life, as I know he or she will make on mine.
