Hello! I am a wife and mother of 2, with 2 Shih-Tzus. I enjoy being outdoors, camping, canoeing, swimming, walking, etc. I started my care-giving journey when my son was born and required a lot of medical help. I was forced to learn a lot of medical stuff in a very short period of time! I opened a licensed daycare in my home and enjoyed not only taking care of other children, but being able to be home and care for my son. Although I loved being a part of the early learning experience for several little children, I was missing something. A couple of years later, I took a job in a local hospital and it was there that I learned that I thoroughly enjoyed taking care of people. I received my CNA from OTC in Springfield MO 3/2003. I left to work for a nursing agency and began traveling to various hospitals, nursing homes and group home facilities. I love working with the elderly the most. One day a family member of a resident asked me if I'd be interested in an outside job, and the new birth of my private duty venture began. I have been blessed with each client that I have taken care of; each one giving me new purpose. I enjoy the stories the elderly have to tell about their youth, their lives and helping to provide them with the help they need to comfortably live the rest of their life in their own home. As an agency CNA, I traveled a lot and worked in hospitals, nursing homes, group facilities, and rehabilitation. I have extensive medical knowledge, extra training in Alzheimer's, dementia & hospice (end of life care). Some of my past duties as a CNA/private duty caregiver/companion include (but not limited to): housekeeping, meal prep, medication management & administering, errands, shopping, financial assistance, companionship, assistance with dressing, bowel/bladder training, drains, wound care, hygiene care, range of motion, physical therapy assistance, transportation, hiring staff, training staff, managing staff, firing staff, transcription, charting, vital sign monitoring, etc. In today's fast-paced society, it seems as though the elderly are being tossed aside and forgotten. Although they may be frail and not as sharp as they once were, they deserve to be taken care of with compassion, loved and treated with respect & dignity. I will go above & beyond to provide the best care for your loved one and treat them like they were one of my own family. Lastly, I have excellent references!
