Kid Scholars Academy

2229 Cypress Lane, Sugar Land, TX

Starting at $150/wk

The mission of Kid Scholars Academy is simple: we want your child to excel in every possible way. We provide a nurturing approach to learning so they can develop socially, emotionally, physically, and academically without restriction. We ingrain in every student the values that you embody as a parent and encourage them to use these skills in their everyday interactions.

We provide an open environment for learning by employing concrete as well as abstract concepts to give every child the opportunity to learn and develop in a way that expands their mind. Your child will learn from their teachers as well as from their peers as we have adopted student-guided activities into our curriculum to promote confidence, self-esteem, and leadership. Through this independent learning experience, your child will reach new heights, rise above the bar, and excel in every way possible, so they grow into a productive adult.

At Kid Scholars Academy, we are steadfast in our approach to learning. We employ diverse techniques to give your student an education that incorporates the tools of tomorrow, today. We engage minds and promote a desire to learn within each student. We help them strive for academic excellence and to be a leader in their school and community as well as in your home.

It is our deepest desire at Kid Scholars Academy to build a partnership in educating your child/children. We understand that you are your child's first teacher and we are his/her second teacher. Our trained staff documents in detail the skills appropriate for each developmental stage by using ages and stages of development charting. We link you to what your children are learning in the classroom daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly communications include parent board displays, a monthly folder for each child and parent reports and conferences.

Twin Christian Learning Center

13139 Bassford Drive, Houston, TX

Costimate: $108/wk

Twin Christian Learning Center, your "home away from home," is a safe and stimulating learning environment where children can feel comfortable playing, resting, eating, and learning. When you walk in or out of TCLC, we want you and your child to feel comfort, security, trust, and most of all LOVE. Our primary goal is to train children God's way.

Twin Christian Learning Center is a licensed home according to the rules and regulation of Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. TCLC provides full-time care, drop-in care, after-school care, and summer care for children ranging in age from one month to 5-years-old.

Children will spend time outdoors when weather permits. They will be allowed to play in the rooms in my home that have been assigned to accommodate children's activities. The children will experience structured learning activities that are developmentally appropriate, stimulating and fun for them. Basic concepts (shapes, numbers, and alphabet) will be introduced and children will be able to learn through the use of manipulative materials, creative drama, music, art, and movement on an individual and small group basis. There are toys, books, resources, and equipment available for the children to use. Children will be mostly guided in developing appropriate social skills, communication skills, home living skills, and how to work independently and together.

TCLC offers a small group setting in order to maintain quality child care. In my opinion, children have approximately thirteen years of school to accomplish. The preparation I offer the children is to help them be familiar with what kindergarten has to offer. This is not a structural school such as a Montessori, private, or preschool. I believe children's play is their work and they learn according to their developmental stages. Therefore, I believe in-home childcare better meets their needs in the beginning stages of their lives.
