We value each child's experience as both an individual and part of their own family culture, and invite the respectful sharing of identities that each child and family may bring. Our 6m old baby has been with Peapod since she was 3.5m old, and we hope to keep her there for as long as possible. After reading the other reviews, I could not understand how a baby can tell you if she likes being there or not. But when we handed her to Shannon at the very first visit, I was stunned that our baby was smiling, cooing, and fell asleep in her arms. Our baby picked the daycare! What I like about Peapod: - They have an organized system w the milk in the fridge so it doesn't get mixed up. - They follow our instructions if we ask for this or that to be done. - They might not know our baby at first, but they know babies(!), and eventually know our baby very well since she spends 10 hrs/day there. - Our baby benefits significantly from the interaction with the other toddlers. She watches them and learns from them. She now has many unofficial 'big brothers and big sisters'. Our baby definitely finds the other kids more interesting than adults (we're boring). - We get daily photo/text updates. - We get daily documentation of feeding, naps, and diaper changes. - The exposure to english, cantonese, and mandarin is a huge benefit for us. - Shannon, Jenny, and Mrs. Luk are very passionate about the growth & development of the babies/infants. You can tell they really enjoy it. - We're new parents and don't really know what we're doing, but we've actually learned how to interact w our baby better by watching how they sing/ talk / play with baby. - They're also extremely affordable and have way more competitive rates than the Bright Horizons of the world. - They are bringing out the best in our baby and helping her become all that she can be! Anyway, we're very happy that we found Peapod and whole heartedly recommend them. Keep up the good work!
SolBe Learning's Photo

SolBe Learning

631 VFW Parkway, Chestnut Hill, MA

Starting at $3101/mo

SolBe is an early learning center that re-imagines traditional notions of child care and nursery school. Our name defines our purpose: "sol" from the Spanish word meaning sun and the English word "be", combining into a name meaning "to be full of light". Learning is not the filling of a cup, but the lighting of a fire.

We aim to create the highest quality early learning experiences through a seed-to-table nutrition program, thoughtfully designed facilities, especially-trained-for-this-work educators, and a school culture influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach integrated with Spanish immersion.

Your wellness and the wellness of your child shouldn't be a question of either/or. SolBe is an early learning center committed to yes/and. Our dynamic program continually adapts and improves as we nurture healthy, engaged lives for children and adults.

The SolBe educational philosophy is heavily influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach; we believe children to be competent and capable citizens of our society. As such, we are careful to craft experiences and learning opportunities based on what we observe about children. We constantly look for opportunities to scaffold children s learning, which encourages them to be active participants in their learning experiences. This means allowing children the freedom to play and explore on their own accord, and the educator taking a role as a guide instead of the traditional gatekeeper of knowledge.

Our educational philosophy also encompasses best practices related to language immersion education. We are a Spanish language immersion program, which means that our day-to-day activities happen in Spanish. We value bilingual learning- and the cognitive and social-emotional benefits which bilingualism promotes.

Attention has been paid to the interactions between the physical learning environment and children, as well as how the environment impacts the interactions between educators and children. Our spaces have been intentionally designed to shift to the changing needs and emotions of the humans who use them. We re inspired by the Montessori method and its attention to beautiful home-like environments, which is reflected in our design.

Our seed-to-table nutrition program is another element of our educational philosophy. Research shows that when children are active participants in the growing and preparation of their food, they are more likely to try, and enjoy new foods. Children participate in a food preparation task daily.

Our absolute biggest challenge prior to attending SolBe was finding an early learning center with educators who would love my child and work with our family to care for him as we do. We want him to be seen as an individual, known by his peers and staff, and to be cared for in the ways he needs as he grows. This challenge made us feel like our son was just a number, just another child in a crowded class. No one had ever taken the time to get to know him. Every child deserves to be seen and heard and assisted in their individual space to learn and grow. We didn't feel like we were getting that. It's heartbreaking to see your child not be cared for, just to be brushed along in a herd. At SolBe, my child is loved. His needs and wants are nurtured. He's learning and growing at alarming speed because he is being heard, his abilities are being applauded and creatively challenged to grow. He's comfortable and happy. SolBe is a positive reference and a place our son requests to go on his days off. Our son sings to us in Spanish and requests to see his friends and teachers when he is home. He doesn't cry or panic when I leave him at SolBe. He tells me he loves his educators, unprompted! He is confident around other children and adults in ways he was not before. To somebody on the fence about attending SolBe, I'd say that investing in your child's care and wellbeing is worth it. This place is special, you'll know when you see it. We've never been more confident or calm about our child's wellbeing and growth than we are in the hands of SolBe.

We feel so lucky to have found Tartt's; it's hard to imagine a better place for our daughter. The staff members are welcoming, friendly, and super helpful -- very responsive by phone and email, and delightful and polite in person. But the teachers are where Tartt's really shines. They get to know each student personally, and adapt their teaching to that child's needs. The curriculum is a perfect mix of structured projects and free play. At every age our daughter's teachers have balanced rules and fun masterfully. When she graduated from one classroom to another, her teacher cried to see her go! The teachers are caring, thoughtful, creative, and pleasant. Tartt's has gone above and beyond in a post-pandemic setting -- temperature checks, masks, sanitizer, separate entrances -- to make students and parents feel safe and comfortable. We recommend Tartt's without reservation, and will be truly sad when our daughter graduates! We only hope to find as welcoming and caring a school for kindergarten and beyond.

Our son, JR, who is featured in the Featured Image above attends BOPN for three days a week and he is in heaven. He calls it nature school and loves his teachers Ms.SarahBesse and Ms.SaraMurray (all one word!). The teachers are truly phenomenal, so thoughtful and he has grown so much since they started. We are so thrilled with the program. They have amazing pictures of the kids every day which include our son hiking tons (we love that!), coloring with blueberries, being in nature, reading stories, exploring and generally having a lovely experience as children. The research that has come out about the benefits of kids being in nature is so huge and we are so lucky to be in the initial BOPN class.
