The Education Station Day Care Center

156 Washington St, Bloomfield, NJ

Costimate: $235/wk

The Education Station Day Care Center is a comprehensive pre-school facility providing care and education for children six weeks thru six years of age on a full time basis. Our school is a private, nonsectarian, non-denominational, developmentally oriented program whereby each of our classrooms are conducted by certified staff. There is also a nurse on staff.

The curriculum of The Education Station are thematically based and encompass the major areas of development, incorporating many different media and materials to help students understand their external, inner, social and intellectual selves. The program is balanced between play and learning with small group instruction and reinforcement of fundamental and pre-literacy concepts.

The Education Station offers ratios that surpass the state requirements by approximately half the required staff. The Infant Program offers a 1:2.5 ratio and our maximum ratio is 1:7.5. Group sizes are small with consistent staffing and designed like learners- children at similar development stages; to allow the teachers to facilitate development.

The school is situated on expansive group with over 8,000 sq ft of professionally surfaced yard space allocated to age appropriate areas. Motor skills, muscle development and coordination, sportsmanship and fundamental skills are inherent to our daily activities.

The program incorporates computers into the learning experience as an additional modality of learning. Also included in the learning experience are enrichment programs which include Foreign Language, Music and Movement, American Sign Language and Yoga.

Children develop individually and not in a linear fashion as they grow towards psychosocial maturity. A wide variety of factor, as well as the child's interpretation of these experiences, will have a bearing on the pattern and rate of a child's progress toward social, emotional and academic well-being.

The education Station is chartered and committed to provide positive experiences and appropriate atmospheres to recognize, facilitate and promote individual growth through avenues rich in self expression, creativity and academic proficiency.

We invite and welcome you to visit The Education Station where we have been preparing children for the path ahead for over a quarter of a century.
